does anyone else have a cat that lays on his tummy with his hind legs stretched straight out behind him (or her)?

8-Bit and Scratch have both been known to do this. I call it "kitty rug".

Yup- Leo does this a lot. It *does* look like a "kitty rug"!

Some dogs do it too, and in the dog world, they call this position "frog dog."

I was noticing Carly doing that last night. Her back legs were straight back with her knees together.

Otis does this all the time, he also likes to stretch out and bend backwards with his belly out, he does it so far he looks like a horse shoe... its hilarious!

That is the position my Magic lays in most of the time. It's funny to watch him lay down because he just his front legs and back legs slide in different directions at the same time.

I wish I knew the answer. That is why I ran across your post because I two have a cat that does the same thing all the time.I don't know if there is something wrong with him.

My Cat Clancy does the same thing. In fact that's how he is on my profile page.   He is usually very relaxed when he is in this position, sometimes sleeping.

It's not too unusual.  One of my cats was fond of doing it on the floor during hot weather...sort of pressing her belly against the cool floor I guess.
