Hi! I'm KittyMomma.

I currently have one cat of my own named Tucker.
We are having trouble with him biting. We just got him Monday-but he's already bitten me and my sister-and broken the skin and it started bleeding-and it almost got infected. My mom and I are thinking of taking him back to the HS because the bites almost got infected.What do we do?

Sounds like hes a little undone from being in a new place. You might have to leave him be for a while and let him approach you when hes ready. As far as the infection, it was an almost infection? or full blown? You may just be allergic to his saliva. Hes up to date on his shots? Is he crazy agressive? or does he only bite when you pick him up or when you're petting him for a while?

Welcome to the site

I would encourage you to read this thread about aggression:

It takes a bit of time for your kitten adjust to your new home. The very best thing for you guys to do is leave the kitty alone and let him explore his new home and take the time he needs to adjust. Make sure he is safe and has food and water, but don't pet him continuously and pick him up. He will warm up to you once he feels a little more comfortable. Some members have had success sitting on the floor near their cat and reading out loud to them.

Good luck and keep us posted on the progress

squirtle is exactly right with her advice. Please give your kitty a chance to adjust to his new surroundings. The members here at TCS will be glad to guide you through the adjustment to help make your kitty a lovely addition tp the family.
Welcome to TCS! Always glad to have a new member.

Hi KittyMomma and Tucker (you little devil, you!
)

Glad to meet you both and since I'm posting this on 26 September, by now I hope Tucker has, uh, tuckered himself out and calmed down a little...looks like you got a lot of good advice to follow and hopefully you and he are enjoying one another's company 24/7! Good to always keep hydrogen peroxide on hand to foam out cat bite wounds...myself, I was born and raised with cats, and bites don't even phase me. Neither do scratches. Currently I am humble servant to 9 rescued, indoor-only, spayed/neutered and SPOILED felines, from 16+-year-young Nicolas T. Cat down to 2-year-old Suha the Terrible a/k/a The Bitemouth Kitten (for very obvious reasons!
) Baby Su bites me whenever she feels like it. I love her anyway! She is semi-feral and was found wandering, blue-eyed and barely weaned, all alone out on our desert land, right before the snows started (yes, in the high desert, there is snow!) She's always acted ferally, and probably always will. I take it in stride, and accept it, as I do all the behavior of all of my loved ones, human or feline. It's all part of life! and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Anyway, purrz to Tucker and glad you are here!
