My girl Jasmine remains very elusive. Recently my son wondered how it feels to pet her. Yesterday she got shut in my closet briefly as I was getting ready for work. The closet has a door on it with window panes, so I saw her within 5-10 minutes. I touched the outside of the window as if playing with her through the glass, then let her out.
A few minutes later she was at my feet, which is very unusual for her. So i reached down slowly, and she let me pet her!
We had a little pet fest for a few minutes. Then I went and told my catlady dd, who Jasmine "belongs" to. So she tried to pet Jazzy in the kitchen...no dice. But Jazzy came back into my room...still wouldn't let dd pet her, but I got one or two more pats in, before she was done.
I was quite amazed...but then this morning Jazzy came back into my room, and was hanging near my feet. I was in a rush out the door, so only had a minute, but she again allowed me to pet her. In the exact same spot as yesterday.
She is one now. A beautiful jet black girl. As you can see in the pic in my siggy, usually she is ltrying to sneak away when we come close, or try to get a pic. Hopefully this is the start of her being more comfortable with us!
