Do the men in your life have manners, ex: opening doors, helping on with coat, etc. or has that gone out with the older generations.......?

Eric can do it but he doesn't do it every time. We try to go out just the two of us at least once every week. That is normally when his manners get dusted off.

My ex was quite the gentlemen, but right now there are few to no guys in my life.

Chris used to when we first started dating. Sometime recently he picked it back up momentarily when he was impressed by someone elses habits
. I think he wants to be, he just forgets
. After we got married I rarely see him offer to help me. Last weekend we went to Target. We didn't get a cart because we only needed a couple things. Well we decided to get air filters (big ones), so I was carrying those. Then we decided to get a small dog bed for the cat and I was carrying that. Then we got a few other small things and I was carrying that too! I was so overloaded and I was just waiting to see how long I had to go before he offered to help me carry something. He took the dog bed right before we checked out
. Men.. Was it not obvious I couldn't carry it all and he had nothing in his hands?!

Jeremy and his brother were raised by their single mom.
While Jeremy would never dream of 'wasting' his manners at home, he certainly does know how to treat a lady, right down to offering his elbow if we are walking anywhere.

Oh how I'd love that if Jerry did that!

I have this problem too! I will be walking around the store with items practically spilling out of my arms and here is Chad next to me just walking along empty handed without a care in the world!

Needless to say- he does NOT have manners when it comes to that kind of stuff! Even his everyday manners are sometimes questionable!

Rob is pretty good. He mostly doesn't fall all over himself doing the gentlemanly thing, and he doesn't fluster if a woman holds a door for him. But he's really good about carrying stuff -- sometimes too good
as in, I've got it balanced and it's going to be a pain to transfer all or part of it to him, but he still pouts if I won't let him take the burden.

Dh is good for that most of the time. Sometimes he needs a little reminding. He forgot the other day that killing the huge gigantic nasty bugs is his job!

Brian always opens my car door first and makes sure I get in the car okay. Of course I always have his door unlocked or open by the time he gets around to his side.

He does little things too, like always letting me go first through narrow passageways, carrying the bags when we go shopping... But don't get too excited, up until the items are paid for and go into bags I'M the one lugging them around the store.
Of course if we get a cart he pushes it. I hate to push.

Yeah, David tries to load me down in the stores until I complain that things are getting too heavy! Then he takes some stuff, but I have to point it out to him. I've given up and usually just get a cart now. Opening car doors??? What the heck is that?

Manners? What's that? Seriously, Brad has some manners, he does the please and thank yous and he will open doors (not car doors though). He Is good about carrying things when we are in a store. We usually get a cart when we go into a store but after we check out, he carries out most of the stuff.

Basic manners like chewing with his mouth closed, and please and thank you, yes. Opening doors and gentlemanly manners? You've got to be kidding? I don't know how many doors have practically slammed shut on me (while I've got my hands/arms full, mind you) because it doesn't occur to him to hold the door open for me.
Oh yeah, and since he has a bad back (nevermind that I have a bad ankle, too), I pretty much carry most of the heavy stuff.
