No, I do not wash my hands after touching my cats, there is no need. After scooping litter boxes, of course I do. Heck, I kiss my cats on the mouth, why would I worry about washing my hands after touching them

No, why would I do that! I kiss her on the head (can't get near her mouth!) and she washes her head with the same mouth that's washed her bum!

I do wash my hands after feeding her or scooping her litter tray though.

I only wash my hands if I am about to cook. Of course I always wash my hands anyway, regardless of what I just touched.

Ok, how weird am I - I wash my hands BEFORE touching my cat in case whatever I have been doing bothers her...um, not all the time but I don't like petting her if I have cleaning solutions, hair gel, makeup or whatever on me. And every day when I come home I wash my hands before petting her - I wash at the kitchen sink and call for her. And because I volunteer at a shelter I am so used to washing between handling cats that it has become second nature.

It's a habit for me to wash my hands before cooking and eating. I also try to wash my hands before touching my face or eyes, but I always forget. I usually wash my hands after giving him food or treats. But if I pet/play with the kitty when I'm not about to do anything that I feel requires clean hands, I don't care.

Prior to moving in wtih my then fiance he was also fanatical about washing his hands after touching the animals. He has some germ issues anyway. Where my, I could care less. I'm not afraid of germs and I don't get sick any more than he does, if anything I'm just a bit healthier! Anyway after we moved in and now married he does not care near so much. I mean your always petting at least one of them no matter where you are in the house.

If I were to wash my hands after each time I petted and played with my cats, I'd be washing them all day long.
