I've been teaching Rocket and Twinkie to walk with me. We don't have sidewalks in this neighborhood, so we have to walk on the street. The streets are paved with tar and chips, so the surface is kind of rough. I see people walking dogs all the time and some are as small as cats. I was just wondering if this type of a street surface is too rough for a cat's pads? So far we're only up to walking a few lots out and back, but if we walked around the block, say, do you think it would be painful for them? Would their pads be injured?

could ... just watch out and check them .,.. there is some paw stuff used on dogs and horses ( obviously hooves not paws) that is wax and may be safe for kittys ..

You can pick up some Bag Balm if you notice that happening. It works wonderfully. Either that or vaseline, just a tiny little dab.
