Birthday cake!

It's my nephew's birthday, and I have been put in charge of the cake (I can't imagine why). What kind of cake do you think a 12 year old would want? I can make one to look like a soccer/baseball, but I was thinking of something slightly more traditional. Any ideas?

Oh, the party is tomorrow, it's not like I waited for the last second or anything.

I think the soccer ball idea is pretty cool!

I love the sports jersey cake! I'm thinking that that may be it. I'm going to have to hit the baking supply store and get some good food coloring. I think his baseball jersey is red. I should also call his Mom and get his number.

I don't take pictures of my cakes, they are too... personal? I don't know, I'm just highly critical of how they look, and I don't want to show anyone anything that isn't "perfect". It's something I enjoy doing and talking about, but it's so difficult for me to show it off.

I like the jello swimming pool cake! I want one of those for myself. *g*
