I just got home from work, and Tiggy wasn't at the door like he usually is. The other three were.
Well, I thought perhaps he's down in the potty or having a snack.....so I called him. That's when I heard it! MEW!! MEW!!! I start racing through the house, because it sure sounded like a distress mew to me!! (a mother knows these things) I follow the mewing, and find my little boy in the hall closet with the door shut! I had been in there this morning for just a brief second to hang up one of Jerry's jackets. Well, little Speedy Gonzales zipped in there and I didn't see. I ALWAYS do a headcheck before I go anywhere, but this morning I was running late and didn't!
I'm so mad at myself.
Tiggy got a big hug when he came out, then zipped down to his litter box and food. Poor guy. He's been all over me since then, and I'm the one that should be fawning all over him............what a loyal, loving, forgiving little guy!!!

Everyone, do headchecks please every morning before you leave the house.

My Wick loooves our linen closet, but I hate to leave the door open, so I have to make absolutely sure she's not in there before I close the door. Usually her big ol' tail is terribly obvious, but sometimes she goes in farther... it worries me

Last night I was putting away clean linens and poked through the shelving in the closet making sure Anya hadn't hopped in before I closed the doors. I didn't see her but had a feeling that she was in there so I grabbed her favorite toy and rattled it outside the door.

Sure enough, here comes a grey ball of fluff from somewhere in the back depths of the blankets.
I'm going to be more careful from now on too.

Hello,

My sister has two cats and she ALWAYS does a headcheck before she leaves the house. One night I was up visiting and we were going out to see Thunder in the Valley and we couldn't find Otis anywhere! We searched, and searched, and searched.

Cailey and already checked the bedroom but I went in there to do a double check. Cailey then points to the dresser and I start opening drawers, there was Otis lying inside one of them!! I was so amazed!

When I used to shut my door before going to bed I would do a head count so that I knew both could reach their food and litter.

So glad that Tiggy was okay though!!

Our cleaning lady used to shut Sophia in my walk-in closet...because she sleeps in there amongst my things! Well it happened so many times, she's not our cleaning lady anymore, and once I came home and Sophia was OUTSIDE in the RAIN her little face was at the back door she was scared to death! She is an indoor cat!! Maybe this is why Sophia is nuts!!

Poor Tiggy...I bet you feel worse about it than he does.

The hall linen closet is Mac's sentry post.
I bet Tiggy just spent the day pretending he was camping out or exploring a cave.

I've done this once myself

When Harley was little, he got into John's closet before we both left for work - for some reason I went & shut the closet door (we usually leave them open in our bedroom) and ran out the door for work. We came home @ noon, hearing this little meow.... yup, sure enuf, he was in the closet all morning. I of course made him cooked chicken breast for lunch
and he forgave me.

Done it with Davidson too
I was vacuuming and he got scared and must have ran into the closet that the vaccum was in. He usually goes into the bedroom, so I shut the door. I went into the bathroom adn came out and I saw Harley sitting by the closet door. Didn't think anything of it, until I heard the sweet innocent meows.... searched everywhere, grabbed his toy and shook it, nothing. Harley, still sitting at the closet door. So, I open the door, and out pops little Davidson

They are way too sneaky!!

I'm glad that Tiggy forgave you!!

I remember I accidently locked my little Rainbow Bridger kitty Stanley in the closet, and went to work. When I came home from work, I couldnt find him, and started calling his name. I heard his muffled meows and looked in the closet. There he was. After that, I have been much more careful, about head checking before I leave for work.

Did it to Jacob once, but in the garage! He followed my husband in and David didn't realize Jakey was in there! We couldn't find him but could hear him crying! Boy, he shot out of there once we figured out where he was like a bat out of @#@$! Needless to say, Jacob doesn't follow people into the garage anymore! How is Tiggy now?

Kricket got closed in the fridge one time. I had no clue, Vinnie and I were sitting in the living room watching tv and eatting diner and I swore I heard gunshots.(he lives in a very nice area but ya know anythings possible) Well for some reason I went into the fridge and out popped Kricket, the supposed gunshots were her knocking over his cousins beer bottles. Poor little girl was a little chilly, she wasnt in there for more than 5-10 minutes, it taught her to stay away from the fridge. Glad to hear Tiggy is A OK!!
