Wow, you and your wife are angels! I am so glad that you rescued the little guys! And achilles sounds like he's been very healthy and eating plenty (from the picture he looks fit); I'm so glad to hear that. Keep us posted on how they're doing and we'd love to see more pictures as they grow.

What size are the other kittens at the moment? Are they anywhere near as big as Achilles? That's a great name by the way - a big, strong name for a big strong kitty!

There's no place like home
The very general rule of thumb that a vet will use for an average kitten weight is about 1 pound per month (e.g. 4 months, 4 pounds). But I've had orphaned litters where the males were twice the size as the females. As others have said, some breeds are simply larger than others. Achilles simply looks like he is a big, healthy, beautiful boy.

What a sweetie pie!!

I had a Maine Coon mix that was nearly that big at that age. He was short haired orange tabby. He got to be 22 lbs at his biggest. He was the biggest baby ever.
Achilles is beautiful! Hard to believe that little kitten grew up to be that regal looking cat.

He looks almost identical to my Ducky
Ducky was a large kitten and an 18lb 3 year old.

I took my baby Eros to the vet last week and at approximately 2 months old weighed 4 lbs
and in the week since then he looks like he's grown even more! It must have something to do with Greek names

Definately Maine Coon in him and the weight is just fine.
Actually, he should be hitting 12-14lbs by now...but then he's a mix so maybe not. On average Coons hit around 14-16 lbs (around 7-9kg) when fully matured!

Good job and handsome fellow you got there!!

he changed a lot since we saved him at 3 weeks old...he was going to be given away to someone but they needed extra time before they could take him. by then we had grown attached and achilles sister wanted him to stay

Skittles Kittens who I said I was told by the vet had coon in them are bog also.. Taffy is 10 months he is 14 lbs and Runtz is 10 months and is 12 lbs... Both where big at 4 months the vets said. I recall at 5 months Taffy was almost 10 pounds. I am thinking maybe you are correct the cat has main your girl seems big like mine.
