Today- for the 3rd time this year- I saw a couple fighting. It usually goes something like this...

I see the husband/boyfriend/whatever but always a male, walking in front of my work when all the sudden a minivan (or some other type of mom mobile!) comes hauling into our parking lot cutting the guy off. The lady usually procedes to scream out the window at him & he starts to walk around the van then she backs up and chases him with the vehicle!!
This one today just about parked her van so it was touching the building so he couldn't get past her on the sidewalk! He eventually made it to the other side of our building and she followed him- got out of the car, chased him down, and was screaming at him... I only could hear her yell for him to get back in the car (I ran to the back to watch!) and she kept shoving him... finally he got in and they left.

What the heck!? I can not even remotely imagine chasing Chad down with my mini van making a huge scene all down the road! We're on a fairly busy road too and there's always something going on around here
This is the third time I've seen what I like to call Domestic Issues

I would just take the license plate and call the police.

It sounds like the woman is a possible danger to the man, and a probable danger to other road users.

Women are just plain catty and bitchy. Especially the ones you have to work with.

The sad thing is that you can NEVER report a chick for domestic violence. No one would ever believe you.

I know it first hand.

This is an irresponsible thing to say. I realise your personal experience was difficult, and did not result in satisfaction, but as I understand it, you felt you could not report her because of her father's position in INS.

Regardless, many jurisdictions do take domestic violence - in all it's forms - very seriously. It is a tricky area of law, and human culture - but protections do exist in many places, and with persistance they can be made to stick.

naw, its not irresponsible to say that. or to say that something is still a issue

finally some areas have started taking both the male and female in for cases of domestic violence, if the man says she hit me first, some police now will take the female but that is still not all. It is different from area to area what action they will take.

There have been lots of new stories where, men have said they called the police cause of there wife actions and the police just laughed at them, after all yoru man you are supposed to be able to handle yourself.

like in the case i saw, the police where right there, watching the female beat , kick slap and yank the hair of her bf who was just standing there., the cops did not respond until after the male defened himself. then he was the one they took away in the police car not her.,(i have no idea why they where fighting just saw what was going on)

there should be no room for any type of domestic violence, no matter what the sex.
that is not what a home and family is about.

I think perhaps I wasn't clear enough.

It is absolutely irresponsible to say that; it is not irresponsible to say that something is still an issue.

It is difficult to get DV (in all it's forms - whether spousal or other types, like adult kids beating their parents or siblings) taken seriously in some places and by some cops. It's not irresponsible to say that.

It is irresponsible to say that no-one will take it seriously if a woman does it, because it isolates the victim. The victim needs to know that some one will take it seriously, they just have to find that some one. It's true, it might not be the first cop you talk to, and that does have to be acknoweldged.

But putting out the message that you should/must put up with it because no one cares is extremely dangerous for people caught in that situation and already struggling with whether they should even try to leave.

I agree, and I think it's appalling that the cops just stood and watched while that woman beat up her boyfriend. Regardless of what the circumstances are - that kind of behaviour is not acceptable.

As for your first post, I think most of us here can take a joke! And I think there's a fair amount of men-bashing on this forum, and you have to get what you give.

SarahBeez - at least it's good entertainment while you're at work! Holy cow, what a way to carry on!

A few months ago a lady in Utah was chasing her husband in her car trying to run him down. He walked into a building and the lady plowed right through the doors with her car nearly hitting a little girl. She finally ran her husband over right before stoping injuring his leg.
People are pretty crazy.
