It's been hard to talk about this until now, but we had to put down Oreo, my 18-year-old cocker spaniel/poodle mix, on July 29th. He lived with my dad after my parents divorced, but he was always "my" dog. His heart was failing and the vet finally said this would be the most humane thing to do.
My father, brother, and I agree he left a big hole in our hearts.
RIP at the bridge Oreo
.

RIP Oreo. You lived a long life. Not many dogs live that long. Now, you're a spry and chipper as a puppy, romping and playing at the Rainbow Bridge.

Bless his heart he sounds so sweet

Have a lovely time over the bridge Oreo, but don't go chasing the kitties up the trees mind.

I am very sorry for your loss! 18 years is a very long time for a dog to live, but I'm sure right now it doesn't seem nearly long enough. Rest in peace, Oreo.

18 years is a long time to live. He must had a beautiful and productive life with you.

I can't imagine waking up after 18 years without him being by your side. My inlaws dog Caleb died last year and everytime we go visit we still look for dog poo on the lawn.

It is when you miss the dog poo on the lawn that you realize you truly miss the dog, every single part of it.

I'm very sorry. Oreo was blessed to live such a wonderful long life for a doggie, may he now rest in peace and enjoy life from above.
