A lovely story...thanks for sharing it, Anne.
Alas, if the troops were marching through that village, it means, almost by definition, that the village had been evacuated long time ago... The war means that thousands of dogs and cats have been abandoned, on both sides of the border. There are so many dogs and cats in Israel now, abandoned by owners who had to evacuate their homes in a hurry. I imagine it's the same on the Lebanese side. I'm sure that the previous family would have been relieved to find out that someone had actually taken their wounded kitty. The alternative being leaving him behind to die of hunger, thirst or lack of veterinary care, I think the soldier did the right thingOriginally Posted by arcadian girl
and the people who owned the kitten...who had their kitty suddenly disappear? does anyone have a thought for them?

Yes, cats have a way of knowing who their friends are and who will help them. What a beautiful story. It's nice to know that good things can come out of terrible situations.Originally Posted by Skippymjp
Very few people and their little furry friends will ever be able to share the memories that those two will have. I have always believed that cats pick their people, and that little kitten came out of hiding when he saw his ride coming
