My skin was getting bad from stress over Bella, I have worn no makeup since May because I cry all the time. So there was nothing on my skin except cleanser and moisturizer. So anyway I decided to try Proavtive, well after 2 days my whole face was bumpy, it feels so weird and looks weird...I stopped using it of course. Has anyone else tried this?

I have used it, once in school and once recently. It definitely makes your skin worse before it gets better (like most acne treatments). You would have to give it at least a month, unfortunately. It definitely worked for me in school, but when I tried it again last year it didn't seem to do anything. I guess it depends on a lot of things.

yes! I love that stuff. Luckily my skin was never that bad. But in HS I would get stressed and break out. It helped tons!! keep with it.

My sister used it. I can't remember if it got worse before it got better. I like to use the stuff that you put on a cotton ball to remove all that dirt...it felt so nice and refreashing. Anyways it did help her acne though but it ruined our towels so be careful with that. We had purple ones but after drying her face a few hours later we'd have pink spots on the towels.

I'm sorry you and Bella are having such a tough time. *Hugs* I hope things improve and you can relax a little bit

First of all....here is a big hug

I tried proactive once, and it did make my face worse before it got better, than after a week it got alot better.

But after about 6 months it made my skin so dry and ichy I stopped using it.

I've never tried it. It's like the only acne thing I have never tried, and I don't think I will. The only things I have ever had that have worked are accutane and diane 35. Diane 35 is amazing (its a birth control pill made specifically for acne)

I've been on it (diane 35) for about 3½ years now. Well, I got off of it at one point because I didn't have any drug plan and I broke out like crazy (thats just the way that my skin is) but when I am on it, I rarely ever get a pimple. Its great.

I have really sensitive skin. I've never tried proactive....but i LOVE Oil of Olay's Dual Action Cleanser & Toner! It's not that expensive and it's super gentle on skin. I also exfoliate once a week with St. Ives Apricot Scrub and i moisturize nightly with Ponds Dry Skin Cream.

Awww, it will be ok babe! Sometimes, when people have really sensitive skin, like my mother, my dermatologist suggests just using plain white DOVE soap. It is one of the most gentle cleansers out there. It might not hurt to use that...and moisturize with a little Aloe Vera afterwards.

Can I just say yes, yes, yes, yes, yes! (I am so sorry you are going through this, I have read your posts). On to skin, I have had bad skin as long as I can remember. It actually got progressively worse as I aged. Birth control pills made it 10 times worse, I finally went with an IUD and it has been the best. I had acne that stayed on my face for well over a year! It was insane and very devestating for me and my sense of attractiveness. A few years ago, I finally gave in and tried proactive, because it was my last step before trying accutane (which honestly scares me). It did take about three months to work (after years of horror, that's not bad). Now, I can even skip washing my face for a few days (not recommended) and not break out. I still have scars from the previous years, but it has really been awesome for me. I haven't felt this attractive as long as I remember
Good luck! (BTW: I hate their automatic refill system. Does anyone really use THAT much of their product?????)

For something that expensive, I must perfer Murad's Acne regimen and supplements. I used that two years ago. I haven't gotten a pimple since.

im 31 and have the worst acne of my life as an adult.
ive used proactive for about 3 months now and it really works! my face is clear. i couldnt beleive it. my acne did not get worse though, it just took a looong time to get better (3 weeks :p)
i used to use oil of olay products religiously but since switching to proactive, no acne.
the only thing is that i think i may have to keep using it; if i miss one day then theres always a spot thats ready to break out.
i am still on my first package ($60 canadian) and im almost out so i got more than two months usage out of it. almost three. thats perty good and way cheaper than all those oil of olay products!

whatever you decide to use i hope it works for you.
