lbs is the mneumonic (like an abreviation) for pounds. 1 lbs (or 1 pound) = 0.453 kilogram

I also take fiber tabs and use a bit of wheat bran in yogurt and cereal kinds of things. I love South Beach because it is so easy. No calorie counting, no portion control and no eliminating fat totally from the diet. The big thing has been getting all the sugar out of my diet. But I feel better, have more energy, am sleeping better and have gone off 2 heart meds and a blood pressure med (with Doctors approval, of course).
The South Beach Diet IS really great, not very hard to follow and unlike Atkins, very healthy (no double bacon cheeseburgers just wth out the bun
) I have absolutely no discipline, but on the two weeks I did mange to stay on it, I lost 10 lbs
I have the book, and would really like to give it a go again.... steak and broccoli forever!!!

I put on an outfit this am that I haven't worn in a couple of months and the jacket was too tight! And not where you wouldn't mind - it was in my upper arms! Oh darn! Back to carrot sticks again - life sucks sometimes! Although it could be the wine in the evening when I'm sitting on my @#@# rear instead of walking, biking or gardening that's doing it! My fault but I refuse to accept any responsibility!!! So there!

I haven't done my exercising yet, as I do it when the baby is napping. But, I ate a bowl of cereal and have started drinking my water. I am going to try to cut out soda completely and, dare I say, icecream! So, the South Beach diet really works, and it's pretty easy? Maybe I will give it a try. I also need to add more fiber to my diet.

I'll check out sparkpeople.

I'm quite pleased with myself. I actually got my lazy butt downstairs and did some walk/jogging on the treadmill. I'm trying this online program called couch to 5k from coolrunning.com

The two times in my life when I looked hot were when I ran in the Army prior to injuring myself and when I waitressed at the Olive Garden. As I'm not willing to wait tables again, I decided to try the running again.

Well do we want to do a percent of our body wieght or a certain number of pounds or exercise a certain amount of time a week. It all depends on what we decide the challenge should be!
