I came home from the salon today, and decided to take a shower to wash off all the little hairs on my back. I looked down at the water and it was yellow, and when I mean yellow, think Mountain Dew. So I call the leasing office and ask what the heck is going on, and they tell me it's normal. Am I going crazy?

Well, there is a chance it was the dye partly washing out. Was it coming out of the tap like that?

I had a bad scare a few years ago, I'd walked home in a heavy shower of rain, and was freezing and soaking when I got home, so I decided to shower to warm up, etc.

When I striped, I discoved that my thighs were covered in these mottled blue bruises - I was horrified, but I decided to go with my original thought - showering - to see if the situation improved when my skin warmed.

Well, of course it did, when the indigo dye from my brand-new blue jeans washed off.

They were doing construction across the street from me and our water kept turning off and then coming back a gross orange/brown color like that. And the electricity kept shutting off, with no warning. It was horrible.

Is there construction around you?

And no, that's not normal, and your landlord is being a stinker. Can you call the water dept, over his head? You would have noticed before if it was normal, right?

Satai, that's hilarious... I would have panicked too, and thought I had gangrene or something terrible.

No I put a shower cap on, so I know it wasn't the dye. Nope, it's some sort of pipe cleaning stuff they put in (it took me 20 mins to get that out of the leasing office). Thank goodness we only give the boys filtered water. I'm thinking of buying some bottled for the next few days just so they don't get sick.

Sometimes if you live near the fire hydrant, and they are blowing them out, you'll get some yellowish tinge for a while. I never thought much about it. Oops.

I know! I felt like *such* an idiot. The worst part was I was so calm - try to warm up the skin, if that doesn't work go to the ER - but never considered that there might not be anything wrong.

I grew up on well water and it was always clean and clear and odor free and tasted so good hehe. I know other people have told me it tastes funny but at least it has all the other qualities I mentioned.

You know, that's one reason I like this site so much. Makes me feel a bit less like Bridget Jones...

Well water out here is just fine..I like it. But up in Michigan where Arthur's parents live their water is kind of yellow and smells like rotten eggs. It feels so slimey lol I hate taking showers up there.

At my parents the well water is very nice clear and lovely tasteing.

I live in the city now and they shut off the water to do some repairs it came out a yellowy orange. I asked about it and was told that it was rust from the water sitting in the pipes when it was turned off and that it should go away in a few days. I hope you water clears up

When I lived in Livingston, CO once they had an accident with the sewer line and it got into the water line (how on earth do they do that??). Anyway we had lettuce and all kinds of *crap* coming out of our sink. It was so disgusting! We had to use bottled water for weeks though the problem had been fixed almost immediately, it just didn't seem safe...
