Well, I'm very excited! I was just informed that I was going to be allowed to bring home a new cat. She's 5 months old and the sweetest thing on this planet. More than likely her sister is also joining our family. Both girls are going to be spayed on Monday, coming home Tuesday afternoon.
1. I already have a 3 year old dog (Sami) and an 11 year old cat (Smudge). Smudge isn't going to be the problem. She only has one brain cell and loves anything that comes throughthe front door. How can I make the transistion better on my dog?
2. both kittens are currently eating IAMS kitten dry food. How long should I wait before switching them to adult food, which is what Smudge is eating? I don't really want to have to keep the kittens' food in my bedroom, but I know that if I put it with Smudge's, she will eat it too and gain even more weight.
3. Will my girls need to be kept isolated after being spayed and for how long?
As you can tell, I don't remember much about my previous cats and how they were raised. I'm excited to be rescuing these girls and any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank so much.
