When they tell you to strip should you take it out/ ake panties, pad off (depending on what you use) or leave it in/leave them on and then let doctor remove?

Honestly, I've been struggling with the question all morning. I think I'll tak eit out and take my chances since its a lowflow day..
I'm usually on a pantyliner at that point (only 3 days of tampons here!) so it doesn't matter for me personally.

It's always good to ask though.

I asked, and they said just go free, that it doesn't bother them. The man delivered my baby, so I guess he's seen worse (namely, my placenta
). Luckily, there was no "evidence" during the exam.

My most embarrassing story was when I was like, 12, and the regular doctor went to check that area out and it was one of the "full" days... I remember it being like a horror film... it probably wasn't that bad. But even the doctor was embarrassed, and when I was a baby I peed on him. He certainly wasn't expecting it.

Goodness. Everyone leaks sometimes, although yes, the pill makes it sooooo much better for me too. I know some people it makes it worse though.

You got a airtight reason to buy new pants though!

I have a "cute" period story if that's posible. Until recently, my sister and her family lived with me. That included my niece Taylor. At the time she was 10..now she's 11. I got a hysterical call from Taylor when i was with Colin at wal-mart saying that she had started. It was funny because i could hear my sister in the background trying to console her to no avail. So while i was at wal-mart, with my understanding boyfriend in tow, i picked up a ton of "teenage friendly" products for her to try so that she could choose what she liked the best, bath salts, girly lip gloss, and a shirt that she had been wanting. I wanted her to celebrate the fact that she was a woman and to understand how special it was (even though periods kinda suck,i wanted her to have a somewhat positive outlook on them as did my sister). So we made an "event" out of it....we just didn't announce it to her brothers
. We made her feel like it was her special day by giving her a gift to make her smile and telling her out stories. I got a really cute bag that said "Hey You, Be Happy" on it...and made her horrible day a good one. That night i got my computer out and let her go on www.beinggirl.com and read all about everything she was going through- it really helped her. We even made her a monthly calender so that way she could try and predict it and not be as frightened when it happened. I really suggest dong that for any girls ya'll may have in your family- it really helped my niece...now she understands it and she doesn't freak out every month
. I wish i had had someone do something like that for me when i first started. I started in the middle of school during 5th grade. I was the only girl in my class who had at the time and i didn't tell anyone....i just aquainted myself with a ton of toilet paper- i was sooo embaressed
. At least i know if i have daughters they hopefully won't be....i will explain things to them way ahead of time and when they start, designate a day for them to "celebrate"...with little girly gifts and things. Yea, i'm weird lol.

Aww thankyou!
I just think it is a good idea to make girls feel comfortable in their own skin so to speak....the more prepared young girls are and the more they learn about their bodies...the more likely they are to make positive choices and avoid things like eating disorders and other things that are detrimental to their health. By making a positive out of something that is usually a negative, Taylor's learned that she's beautiful and special and that being a woman is something to embrace and celebrate! She has such a wonderful attitude

My mother baked a red velvet cake the day I started my period. We also had a wonderful girl's night out that day too. She took me to the drug store and then out for a nice quiet dinner. It was one of my favorite memories from my childhood. She talked about the gift and responsibility of having a period, and how it connected me with other women.

Wow! You guys are awesome! I never got that!

Well hopefully today is better. Last night I got home and of course it leaked onto my *new* pants (which were darker so no one noticed and it didn't go thru).
So everything went through the wash last night. Sheesh...somedays I think its there to torture me.

This is why all my slacks are black or other dark color and why I like dark sheets!

I'm afraid I have never liked that part of being female. I think that men wanting to have sex changes should have to go through several bad periods before the final surgery. They need to experience all the "joys" of womanhood. Heck, all men need the experience before getting involved in a relationship!

My first one was awful... I was 9 as well, and since my mom wasn't expecting me to get it for a few more years she hadn't told me a thing about it. I was luckily at home, but I was in the bathroom and I really freaked out- I went to the living room and I was like mom, I need to show you something... and she was like oh crap, I thought I had more time. So she explained that it was for having babies but didn't tell me a thing about the process of making babies!
I learned that in 5th grade sex ed!
