about the only thing she's ever shown an interest in is fried chicken
don't know how interested she'd be tonight, tho. i've got some people tuna - since i don't eat it, i've never tried her on it. i'll try it.

well, she sniffed it...several times, then walked away. i dabbed my finger in it, & rubbed it gently on her nose, & she licked her nose, but she doesn't want any of it. Cable's eating it right now, my little garbage disposal

alright, i've given her four syringes [3 cc each] of water, plus the clavamox, which she was decidedly unhappy about... i probably won't post again until tomorrow unless she gets worse & i need moral support. please keep us in your prayers!

There's a recipe for homemade pedialyte on TCS somewhere, I can't find it though. I'll post it if I find it. Hugs to Pixel.

Hope she feels a bit better tomorrow, and starts nibbling a bit of food for you.

ok, i thought i was going to be posting an improvement report...she actually drank for me this morning. didn't find any throw up spots. but almost immediately after drinking, before getting her medicine, she threw up. clear, sticky, with red flecks. i took a picture, but don't know if i can get it to post from home. if not, i'll post later. anyway, i'm saving the paper towel i used to clean it up with to take to the vet's tomorrow, where we're going if there's no improvement.
she acts like she feels better, but no eating yet...
here's a try for the pic...
nope, not gonna work.

Have you called that Vet again to tell them what's happening? Are they thinking it's not "an emergency" ?

in the land of poutine and ice
Scully ate very little after his op while on clavamox, so it may just be that it is upsetting her tummy a little so she isn't eating, but I would be worried about the spitting

I hope she feels better soon and all goes well with the vet.
Scully did lick the lid off a yogurt after his op, would Pixel be interested in that? Hardly proper food, but at least a coating on the tummy, clavamox is supposed to be taken with food (at least when Scully had his op) so it may irritate the stomach if there is nothing in there to line it

i'm fixing to leave for church. i'm going by the store afterwards, & was planning to buy some chicken liver to cook for her. i'll get some plain yogurt, too - all i have is fruit flavored w/splenda - probably not the best thing for a cat. she actually is doing the spitting up prior to taking the meds. this morning, i hadn't given her her clavamox yet - she had drunk some water, that's all
anyway, i'll post how she responds to the liver and/or yogurt offerings. i haven't called the vet because i can tell she feels better - even with the spitting, & she's not dehydrated yet - i've checked. so i'm playing the waiting game... if she doesn't improve, we'll go back in the morning. i don't even know if they're open on sundays, anywa - i live in the bible belt, guys - most places of business are closed on sundays, especially service places.

ok, i'm at my mom's, fixing to go to the grocery store for the liver & stuff. here's a pic of the paper towel...but the color's not quite right, since the towel is actually white. anyway, i'll call the vet's office when i get home, but they're probably not open. i'll at least leave a message for in the morning, especially if i can't get her to eat or drink.
anyway, here's the pic, such as it is...

I am certainly not an expert but it sure look like blood to me.

Does you vet leave an emergency phone number to call when they are closed?

I was thinking it looks like blood to me too. I hope poor Pixel gets to feeling better soon, and I would definately try to keep giving her water with a syringe to keep her hydrated. Would she be any more likely to drink running water out of the faucet?

hey, i'm back home now. she just spit up about a teasponn of stuff - no flecks, just slightly pinkish, not nearly as scary looking. & she's so much more alert - lifting her chin for scratches, etc. i'm going to try her on the liver and/or the yogurt later... as far as water, she likes it cold. i put some ice in the fountains - that usually brings her running, but not in the past 2 days
i also got some unflavored pedialyte that i'm going to use from now on instead of water in the syringing so she'll get some electrolytes along with hydration. those of you who cook such things - how do you cook liver? should i microwave? add salt or anything? i did get some chicken baby food to help with consistency...this is frozen raw chick liver. i'd feed it raw, but since she won't even eat canned, i'm pretty sure she wouldn't touch raw - i have a better chance with cooked!

well, she's not interested in the liver mixed with the baby food or the yogurt...i'll try them both again later. but she's feisty enough to run away from me
more than she did last night when i was trying her with the tuna, so i'm thinking some improvement, anyway.

I agree, that looks like blood unless the color is so far off (I know you said the towel is white). She could just be irritated from the past vomitting she's done.
