My cat just had kittens 6 weeks ago today. She's been litter trained for a long while now, never had any problems with accidents or anything after she started using it. But about the last week or so, she's been going on the carpet... she'll go right beside the litter box or in the same room. The only thing I can think of as to why she'd be doing is that is maybe because now that the kittens are running around doing it, she thinks she can, too? I've been trying to train them as well. And the really odd thing is that she still pees in the litterbox, she just keeps doing number 2 outside of it. I asked a friend about it since he had a cat that had kittens a few years ago, and he said he had to put his cat outside because she started doing the same thing and wouldn't stop.
I really don't want to have to put her outside, because then I'd have to get her spayed and I don't like the idea of her being outside, anyway. Too many lose animals around here. Any idea on what I could do? I know if I don't stop this soon, my mom will probably make me get rid of her
