Maggie did the cutest thing last night so it got me to thinking about how each of my cats have differnt behaviors that they do that make them special. Now I know there may be other cats in the world that do these things, but my cats will often do the same things (Like how they all chew on cardboard boxes) these behaviors are things only 1 of them does. Levi is such a good boy it's hard to pick one thing that he does that makes him special, but my favorite is how he comes running when I call "Where's my big boy?" Jordan has developed a new trick that I love which is if I put my arms out & say Jordan up?, he jumps right into my arms (melts my heart every time). When I throw a ball Isaac can jump up in the air catch it in his paws, put it in his mouth & still land on his feet. Now for Maggie, I saw her do this once before, but I got her to repeat it several times last night. If I throw 2 sparkle balls she will pick both up in her mouth at the same time & drop them both at my feet. It's the most adorable thing I think I've seen in a long time!

So far I've only had Maui 6 days but as of now I love his nightly ritual! When we're laying in bed he'll lay next to me- really close- so I can pet him and hold him, then after a few minutes he'll get up & lick the tip of my nose at least three times, rub his face into mine, then lick my face until I pet him! It's so cute! That little tongue sure does hurt sometimes but I wouldn't trade my kisses for the world! After he gets a good rub he lays back down for another few minutes then starts it all over

Well, we have 2 new kittens (we've had them at home for a week today) Titan & Cami, and its amazing to see their different personalities... Cami, our girl is already daddy's (my boyfriend Rob) princess, she struts her stuff & always gives him the innocent look if he opens the door mid her beating up her brother! Just last night she figured out that she can jump onto our legs when we walk by the bed... and she gives himthe little innocent look like "it wasn't me, i just appeared here" look
Whereas Titan was the runt of the litter, and definatly mom's little boy, he cries & cries in the vehical with Rob, but if i'm there, he just meows at me, almost as if to complain about "dad's" driving! But he'll be playing with his sister, or with Robin, and if i come in the room, he stops everything & trots up to me to say hi, and will follow me around till I pick him up & give him kisses & a scratch!!!
More the way they were raised though is their love to play in the litterbox & feet, they love smelling them... which is pretty gross, esspecailly after Rob's feet come outa work boots!! haha
I couldn't imagine life without them now! (and its only been 7days!)

Some of these behaviors are just incredibly adorable! I know JUST what you mean. I have two male kittens who have been together early on in their still-young lives and who are only now starting to differentiate themselves to me.

They are both just a little over two pounds. They are both affectionate, but one is more of a momma's boy, and loves to snuggle in my hair, still.

I guess this is the thread, though, to tell a funny thing that happened today:

It was really hot and we were all just laying around. So I filled my big, deep, garden tub about two inches or so with tepid water and put them both in. I then stepped back because it was the funniest looking thing watching their little heads bob up and down as they tried to escape. They didn't cry they just kept jumping, to no avail.

Finally they realized their feet weren't in any danger and they started enjoying the bath. They seemed to enjoy drying off as well, very intensively licking themselves and each other all over for about AN HOUR.

If you ever need to distract a couple of kittens, this is just ONE way to give them something to do, something that seems to take their full attention.

They do sometimes still sleep together although during the day I find them snoozing in different parts of the house.

My baby Astrid did something the other night that totally got me. She was a very feral cat that was trapped, neutered and rescued, so her experience with humans was very limited and not the best. So she was very wary and not at all cuddly when she came home with me.

Just last week she began to spend the night sleeping with me in my bed. I would wake up to roll over and she would be there and I would pet her and tell her I loved her etc. I usually sleep on my side with my arm stretched up and my head on my arm. One night I go to roll over and she is right next to me all stretched out on her side with her paw up and her head on her paw - EXACTLY like me.

She is now so comfortable in my bed that she will stretch out on her back and push me with her back feet to get into a comfortable position and have room - too bad for me if I only get the edge of the bed.

She is really coming along and I hope someday I will be as lucky as you to have her jump in my arms or lick my nose or just be able to pick her up without a drama.

Sweety use to lie dead center of the bead or couch and kick her back feet out if you imposed on her comfort zone!
Maia loves to crawl up on my chest, purring like a corvette, have to pet her with both hands or she will go after the on e that is not petting her, then rolls over on her side/back, which I have to prop her up so she does'nt fall off completely, and fall asleep till I move....Maia also fetches her toys with me, it's good because I work at home so if she feels ignored I can play fetch with her!
We live in manhattan and have a rooftop garden out back. The key to the door is looped on a leather string that I hang on the doorknob......every time I open the back door, she gets the key and runs around the apartment with it in her mouth!

My Nico was sooooo funny! No matter where in the house he was, if he heard me take ONE step on the stairs, he would RUN to beat me to the top of the stairs! I have never seen a cat do that. Sometimes I would tease him and just take a couple of steps up, and then watch him charge up to the top! He always did this....I miss my Nico. He died last week with no apparent cause at the age of 2 years.

Oh Sierra so sad for you - I am sure Nico enjoyed his time with you as much you did. It is so nice that you have such a fun memory of him. They do make our lives so much better in so many little ways.
