My mother adopted a cat(Zack) from our local adoption center(Paws) when he was 2 years old. Zack had been with 4 previous families before coming to ours, and though it took him a long time, he eventually warmed up to us and became a wonderful cat--except for one thing. My mother is getting her house ready to be sold so she had a new carpet put in. During this, she discovered that Zack had peed in the dining room so many times, the urine had eaten a large hole through the wall. There are 2 other places where the walls are soft and about to fall in, and she said she would have to give Zack back to Paws if it continued. He has had problems peeing in the house since we adopted him over a year ago, but this is extreme and though I would never want to give Zack back to Paws, we need to find a solution ASAP or my mom will return him. If we gave him to the SPCA, they would destroy him since he is 3 years old. Please give me any advice to help Zack stop peeing in places other than his litterbox so my mom can keep him. She really loves Zack, but she can't afford to keep him if he continues this behavior
