Bluebell lost her mucous plug at 5.30pm and had her 6 kittens at 7.45pm 8pm 8.15pm 8.45pm 9.35pm and 10pm. They weighed in at 4oz 4oz 5oz 3.5 oz and 4oz. Sadly the little girl born at 9.35 had developed with her internal organs, bowel etc... on the outside and was severely malformed with her body completely twisted and her legs twisted. She was very strong when she first arrived, she made noises, opened her mouth and wriggled a lot, i was concerned as to what i should do. I cut her cord and my husband held her for a while, we said goodbye and she died naturally a little while later. I was so upset but the others are strong. The first 2 were breech, the first one didn't come out very easy so i telephoned the vet who told me to gently pull when Bluebell was contracting, i did but at first nothing happened, soon after i got it out. I had to tie and cut the cord of 4 of them, Bluebell managed 2 her self. We have 3 black and 2 grey, the little girl that died was also grey. Bluebell is doing very well, she is licking all of the kittens and they are all feeding. She wanted me with her while she went through this experience, every time i got up to go out of the room she meowed until i returned. I am so relieved that my girl is ok it has worried me for weeks!!The dental floss, scissors, heat pad and every thing reccomended for the birthing process was used and thanks to this site i had them to hand.
