Paris Hilton - Page 2

I disagree. I heard something on the radio today and I agree -- she looks like a drowned rat. I just don't get how people think she's attractive.

I like Paris Hilton.
I am staying out of this thread because I have learned that you get no where trying to defend celebrities here. People read and believe every word they hear in the tabloids and form their opinions on that. Saying that someone is "trash and should keep their mouth shut" is a very harsh thing to say. I can't understand why people feel that it is ok to speak so negatively about someone, especially someone they have never met.

She is a tall thin healthy blonde with bright blue eyes and clear skin. I have yet met a woman who fits all those descriptions who is not attractive.

I think she wears too much makeup and it masks her beauty.

Who is she and why do I care if she has sex?

Very well. I don't like the image of Paris Hilton, the persona as she is presented in the media. I think she's presented as being vapid and silly and self-absorbed, and none of those are traits I find particularly desirable in another human being. Whether or not she actually is any of those things is irrelevant: by behaving this way and by allowing the media to portray her this way, she demonstrates to young women everywhere that this kind of behaviour is acceptable, and I don't believe that it is.

I also don't consider her terribly attractive, although I see the potential for beauty in her. I find her too thin and I feel that her face lacks any appreciable emotion -- nonetheless, I suspect these are considered desirable traits in the fashion industry, so what do I know?

For the record, I also don't like Britney Spears or Jessica Simpson (and no, I don't have a thing against blondes! ). It just saddens me that these are the role models our young women have -- these are the women who are held up by the media and society as something or someone we should want to be. Well, quite frankly, I don't want to be them. I'm proud of my intelligence, proud of my social conscience, and proud of the fact that I know what's going on in the wider world. Whether or not Paris, Britney and Jessica are stupid or vapid or socially irresponsible isn't the point: it's the fact that by being portrayed as these things, these traits are being seen as desirable by their fans and become incorporated into our youth culture.

I could probably rant on this for hours, if anybody would listen to me!

Paris apparently wants to be famous for being famous. And she's doing a really good job at being famous considering she really hasn't actually accomplished anything. But hey, I can't judge her. If I were born into millions of dollars and the world at my feet I may have ended up the same way. It's not like she *has* to do anything with her life - her Daddy already made enough money for generations!

I do think it's sad, though, that with that much time and money at her disposal that she can't even find one thing in life to do for someone else in the world. Look at her sister....oh, wait...since Nicky is actually DOING something with her life in getting a degree and hasn't had a scandalous sex tape or a mind numbing TV show, we can't really look at Nicky. You don't make headlines by being a decent person. So really...who's to blame for Paris' behavior? She's an attention whore and a media whore, and if the media and public didn't hang on every ridiculous thing she says, and every scandal she's involved with, and paid more attention to upstanding little rich girls (or not so rich girls) being the idiot bad-girl would get old real fast.

Paris Hilton's mom does reality shows too. Maybe that's where she gets it from?

Simple Life is one of my guilty pleasures. It's tripe-y and vapid but I love shows like that. Isn't TV supposed to be an escape from your real life?

I've finally decided to chime in on this thread. My husband used to work with a young man whose family hosted Paris and Nicole in the first season of "Simple Life" (Curly is his grandma, and the boy Nicole kissed his first cousin.) He actually went down to Altus and met them while they were filming (its not so far away from here.) He actually said that neither are as bad as they were portrayed in the show. Most of the outrageous stunts were scripted. The writers actually had to figure out what to originally put up on the Sonic sign so it could be changed into something crude, for example.

While, I don't personally care for her, it is important to remember as others had pointed out, that what we see is a carefully groomed image that sells. Its unfortunate for her that the image her publicists have chosen for her is one of a ditzy blonde slut.

If I got paid that much to act that way i probably would to. lol

Same here. I cannot claim to be morally superior than Paris Hilton.

I wonder if anyone wants to pay me 1 million for a tape with my husband.......

I agree completely. That show is so outrageous you know a lot is made up.

How Paris portrays herself in real life, though, is what disgusts me.

Anyone here that her pet bit her on the face again?

Her bright blue eyes are fake - she has colored contacts.

I think Nikki Hilton (her sister) is pretty, I don't think Paris is pretty. I don't have that much against her, though. From what I saw of her on The Simple Life, she seemed quite likable. Much nicer than the Richie girl. The only thing I do find disgusting about Paris, is her constant "posing", even during normal conversation. It's like she's always in Fashion Model Mode. She's too skinny, and her nose is too big. Her sister has ber beat by a mile, as far as looks go.

I do however, find her as worthwhile a person as any other person on this planet. She can't help it that she was born with money, nor can she help it that her parents spoiled her. She does seem like a silly little girl at times, but then most young girls do act silly.

I heard a cut from her upcoming album, and I must say, I was impressed.

I am planning to buy her album, especially since she hired the best sound engineers and supporting crew.

An album is 50% singer and 50% other people. Since the people she hired to create her album were so excellent, the album itself can't be that bad.

I agree, I think her sister is prettier than she is. I don't think she's that pretty...but she doesn't look as weird and skeleton-like as Paris.

I enjoy the one song that's out the radio...but only because I spent a week wondering who it was, lol. It doesn't sound like her at all...and I like the music, it reminds me of the music from "50 First Dates," a soundtrack I love. I've heard a few other songs from it, though, and I think she'll be a one hit wonder, they're not very good IMO.

There is nothing wrong with one-hit wonder. Everytime I study science I still listen to "Who Let the Dogs Out"

I like Gretchen Wilson's new song, We can't all be California Girls. Paris Hilton really does make me sick lol.

I heard that song for the first time last night and I must say I was surprised to hear it was Paris Hilton....I don't think it was too bad.Quite catchy really.

I didn't know she was a singer too

She is not that dumb. Also, I have watched her on TV a couple of times and she seem to be the nice one compared to Nicole Richie. Even if she is a dumb spoiled brat as long as she is decent enough to not deliberately go out to hurt other people she is a superior human being to me.

I have never seen her doing something mean. Stupid, yes, but not mean. The intent is the difference and I love her for not having an inherent meanness in her soul.

I am buying her CD. I think she and Britney Spears have the same sound engineering team, that is why they sound the same.

I have Britney's CDs and I am planning to buy Paris' CDs because I am such a fan of excellent sound mixing work. It is soothing to me. I actually think the backup workers are more important than the singers themselves.

I never noticed until now, but Paris has perfect collar bones....almost like Audrey Hepburn's collar bones. It is quite amazing

All of her undesirable personality traits are easily fixable. She is only that confident because she never had any personaly tragedies happened in her life. She is no more self-conceited than a college freshman. I love freshmen so by the same line of thinking I also think she is adorable.

As soon as something seriously tragic happens and she is faced with her own mortality she would change and become more mature. Although I rather people stay that way their whole lives rather than faced with the darkness in this world.

There are only two kinds of people in this world: nice people and mean people. All the other personality traits are easily fixable. but inherent meanness cannot be fixed. It is so much better for her to be blithe. After all, why should she be anything else? Why does she even need to be mature and serious, maybe even sad, like the rest of us?

America is the only country that requires its rich to work. Rich people in other countries enslave people and do unspeakable crimes. As long as Paris actually earns some of her own upkeep, she is actually in a better position than some of the early 20-something year olds who rely on parental handouts

That doesn't sound stupid to me, it sounds like she knows exactly what she is doing and loving every moment.
well said! that what I THINK.
