That is wonderful news! Over 5 years PRISON for strangling a cat. My thoughts and prayers go out to the woman, who, although she didn't seek help for herself, braved going to the vet (thus letting an outsider know about the domestic abuse) and MANY BLESSINGS to the vet for reporting the incident

Meanwhile, may there be more victories in the cause of animal rights! Esp. in the area of domestic violence, our cats and dogs have suffered right along wtih us; but, as this article shows, good changes are coming

Good news.
Would only be better if there was an update reporting that he has been strangled and had his tail broken in an abusive relationship with his new cellmate.!

Prison sentences might just help deter others from commiting animal abuse. If they see that others are being sent to jail.Hopefully they will think twice before commiting the same crime.

Exactly! Most people who commit violent crimes receive non punishments like probation, suspended sentences, community service, and small fines. That sends the message that there's not much of a price to pay for committing sadistic, violent crimes against animals.

The case I cited in this thread is a HUGE exception. Finally, one of these cases was taken seriously! It's about time!
