They are both beautiful. I'm afraid I have no answers for you though. I am new too. I am concerned about Sunshine sneaking out after her pregnancy. I don't want her prego again. I have to find a vet that isn't expensive though. My financial situation has changed. I have a question for you. Was your cat big. Sunshine was always a petite cat and she did def. get bigger but it is hard for me to think that she could have more than 3 kittens. Although I have heard this has happened. She is due anyday. I am hoping today is the day she will pop. Keep your finges crossed. darc

All i can say id just make surr you read up as much as you can on cat birthing.

Make sure you have your vets number on hand and ring them to warn them that she is going into labour and that she had trouble last time.

Keep an emergency vet number on hand too.

Just want to say, good luck and that i am sending you both vibes.

Well first off let me say I am so sorry for you loss hon, I know you must have been devistated by this. Second, the truth is all you can do is keep her from getting out by any means necessary. That way she doesn't go into labor outside, nothing happens to her, she can't mate again after having the kittens or before she is spayed. Third, feed her very healthy food and make sure that if she is small she gains a descent amount of weight, they can gain a little each day. Other than that pray and keep a very watchful eye on her. Make sure that her birthing box is set up properly, that when you see signs of labor, panting, contractions (may look like hiccups, leg stretching on its on, or muscle spasm) placenta, bloody show, close off ALL dangerous places for her to have her babies because they love to hide under beds, dig in mattress. If need be set her up in a bathroom when you go to work so that there are no surprises when you get home.

No one but a vet could really give you a true prognosis on whether or not she will have a better delivery or not, but you can do what you can to ensure that she eats healthy, and has a warm place to lay her head that she feels is safe, and watch and pray.
I will def. send your baby my prayers for a safe and healthy delivery.

Unfortunately...when cats become pregnant so soon after giving birth, they do not have the same level of resources that they had for the first litter..so typically the second litter is less healthy.

Since your girl is likely to escape again....please place her in a room that is at least 2 doors between her and the outdoors. If she was earlier in her pregnancy...I would have recommended that you have her spayed. At this point, I would just keep an eye on her and pray that all works out this time around. It is critical however that you ensure that she remain indoors only and does not escape until she is safely spayed. Even though it is not recommended to spay a nursing mom....if you fear that she will again get out..you may want to speak to your vet about having her spayed a few weeks after she gives birth.

Best way to avoid an accidental escape is to ensure that there are at least 2 doors between your cat and the outdoors....if you have concerns...you may want to invest in a large dog crate to keep her in.

In them thar hills...
I am reading. You are not talking to yourself. I am anxious to hear how this goes. I hope all goes well. Please keep updating. And if possible post newborn kitty pics. They are so precious. And please keep her inside and get her spayed when the babies are weaned.

Good luck............jenn
