Hello all, this is my first post so pleased to meet you!!

We recently got two black and white kittens, now 10 weeks old. Both of them are brilliant and have been no trouble at all (well, not much!). They worked out where the litter tray was as soon as we bought them home and have always gone to the tray to do their business without fail. The only problem is that one of them, "Tilly" always steps straight into her own "Produce (!)" before trying to cover it over. This obviously results in her then walking through the house with fairly nasty results!

Has anyone got any ideas about how we can stop her doing this? Will she just grow out of it? Her sister has no such problems.

Please Help!!

Thank you in advance,
Chris.

P.S I tried to attach a picture of the offender but it didnt work, if someone can let me know how to i will attach a pic in a reply.

Hi and welcome to TCS!

Firstly, congratulations on your new family members!

My Willow had a similar issue when he was younger! He has now grown out of it (most of the time, he does have the odd mess up!)

I would say that as Tilly is so young, then she will grwo out of it in time once she develops her skills!

To attach a picture, you'll need to get a free account at www.photobucket.com There you can upload your pictures and copy and paste the [IMG ] tags from underneat the picture, past that in your post and ta-da!

If you need any more help, give me a shout!

Awww, bless!
Tilly looks similar to my Willow too!

Just so you know for the future, we have a size limit on pictures. I generally do mine 530x340
You can also reduce the size in photobucket!

how big is the litter box? if it's kitten size maybe try a larger one? unforutunatly this is something they will learn not to do later as stated above. but i know it can be difficult get a little welcome mat or door mat to put outside the box so when they get out they walk across it. also what sort of litter are you using? could be that the litter might be too thick or heavy for the kitten to pull over so they miss and hit the poo instead. just an idea.

Welcome to the site!!
your kittens are adorable.

I agree with the others, she will probably grow out of it when she developed a bit more co-ordination and isn't so clumsy.

In the meantime I think the mat infront of the litterbox is a great idea. You can get some that have grooves in them for catching excess litter

Awwww how cute are those babies!!

She will grow out of it I'm sure. Bella was exactly the same. Now she just does 'burn outs' in the litter until its all over the floor!!
