I actually tried to find it the first time - but although you will get hits of people referring to the poem, I've found none so far of the poem itself.

I will see if one of my friends has it and I will post it. (It's ancient - well out of copywrite now!)

I'd love to see the poem too. It sounds very meaningful.

I dropped the little kitty off at my cousin's last night. I know she'll take good care of her until we can find her a home. She's really going to try to convince her mom and dad to adopt Lily. The plan is to get my aunt, who lives just a couple of house away, to come and spend time with the kitten and hope she falls in love. My cousin's kids are used to cats and are so excited to have Lily staying with them. They've decided to change her name, though. When I left last night they had it narrowed down to Crystal, Peaches and Ginger Cookie Pillow (that was the 5-year-old just being silly)

Thanks for the vibes and prayers for this sweet girl. Please keep them coming!

My cousin just called and said she may have a lead on home for the kitty.
She doesn't actually know the person. It's the mother of her co-worker's friend. Anyway, she's going to have this woman call me so we can go through the usual pre-adoption screening. I should be happy about this, but I'm already worried that it might not be a good home. I never should have brought this little kitty home and gotten so attached. Now, I'm feeling so protective of her. I should have just kept my distance and given my cousin advice on what do. She said she's pretty sure my aunt won't adopt the cat. She also said the cat kept them awake all night crying. She wasn't mad, but I don't think she's going to be willing to foster the cat longterm. Guess where this cat's going to end up if we don't find her a good home sooner rather than later? Back in my spare bedroom, of course.

I'm going to think positive, though. Please pray that this is a good home!

The kittten's name is now Ginger, thanks to the kids. That's her third name change in as many days!
Anyway, she has an appointed to be spayed, tested and vaccinated on Sat.

Haven't heard anymore about the potential home for Ginger, which is actually a relief. My cousin said she thought it might be a situation where the person can't pay the adoption fee, so she was thinking of offering to pay it herself. I don't think that's a good idea and told her so. If the person isn't willing/able to pay the adoption fee how likely is it that she'll be willing/able to pay for food, litter & vet care?

Also learned that my cousin took Ginger down to meet my aunt's elderly cat, Theo. He did fine, but Ginger hissed and swatted at him. So, this has my aunt pretty much convinced she can't adopt Ginger. I can't believe they just threw the two cats together like that and decided it wouldn't work out. Ginger's reaction was perfectly normal under the circumstances. I don't want to pressure my aunt into adopting Ginger but, at the same time, I don't think she should base her decision on one negative encounter between the cats.

Please keep those vibes and prayers coming for Ginger. I know there's a wonderful home out there for her.

Just an update on Ginger: The good news is that she's now fixed, vaccinated and tested negative for FeLV and FIV.
The bad news is that my cousin hasn't been able to find her a home.

We're running a newspaper ad this weekend for our cats/kittens and will include Ginger. Please keep those vibes/prayers coming that someone falls in love with this beautiful girl!

Thanks!

I already updated Ginger's thread in Cat SOS, but wanted to post here too.

Thanks to everyone's prayers and vibes, this sweet little girl now has a home!

She's being adopted a wonderful TCS member and Mod - Valanhb (Heidi) and her husband! We still have to work out the details of getting Ginger to her new home, but that's in the process.

This just goes to prove how miracles can happen on TCS. Thanks everybody and, especially Heidi and Earl, for giving Ginger a wonderful new home!

That is so wonderful that you found an awesome home for Ginger. That seems to be a great name for a calico (I just named my new calico kitten Ginger).
