Does anyone have a good mexicanish dip recipie they could share?

I'm looking for a warm dip to make for the baby shower next weekend. I had a friend make a fabulous one in college when we took an oral communication class and do you think I put the recipie in a good place? Nope! All I remember is that she layerd ingredients and the top was cheddar cheese and then she baked it and it was realllllly good! I think we ate it with tortia chips.

So can anyone help me out?

I have an excellent recipe. Mix 2 cans chili (with or without beans), 1 block of cream cheese, and 2 cups shredded cheddar. Bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Seve with tortilla chips.

I could live off of this dip alone.

Put one or two cans of refried beans (or however much you need) into a glass baking dish. You can layer this with cheese, onions, and sour cream (or whatever you like really) and bake in oven set around 350 degrees for 10 minutes or so. You can really tell its done if you layer cheese on top, because the cheese will be all melted and the edges of the beans will start to get just a tiny bit crispy! SO cheap and easy, and great!

The one I make is with Hormel chili (sorry I use no beans), a can of nacho cheese sauce (I use El Rio). You can also add some salsa to this but you don't want it too runny. Just combine all ingredients and keep warm in a crockpot.

There is this 7 layer mexican style dip that is wonderful but I have to wait to ask hubby when he gets home. His mother makes the best!

My version of this is to layer the same ingredients. Spray the bottom of a pan and spread with cream cheese (up to 2 blocks depending on the size of your pan). Cover with the chili beans and top with the cheddar cheese. Bake for 25 at 350.

So I'm lazy - you don't have to dirty a bowl to pre-mix it! LOL
