Well Dante is still at the vets office. I have decided to board him there, rather than bring him back to the only 2 options I have 1) outside 2) my basement.

The red dots was from an allergy that the cortisone shot has helped tremendously.

I have finally found several rescue groups in my area that are willing to help me find him a home. That has been the most difficult part is finding help, but thankfully, I have.

Aftering weighing my circumstances at my home, I just dont feel that it is something I can do at the moment. I have an open floorplan home that it is already difficult in keeping my 2 fighting boys separated. I feel that if I introduced a new cat into a situation that is already traumatic that it would make things worse.

I tried yesterday to bring my 2 boys together for a bit, but they are still extremely angry with one another. That is another situation that I may have to forever keep them separated, they are littermates and I am seeing a behavorists for their issues.

I wish I could keep him, hes a sweety, but from the sound of the people I have spoken with today, it shouldnt be hard to place him.

Now Im just hoping my vet will work with me on the accumulating vet bills so I dont end up homeless.

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
Thank you for rescuing this kitty! He's a gorgeous boy. It sounds like he got lost and disoriented by the storm.

If you need to look for more assistance, you can try these links:

I'm sorry to hear about your boys. In our home, the boys are the friendly ones, and the girls have problems accepting new girls, but not new boys.
Two of our males do quibble from time-to-time, but using Feliway occassionally helps keep our mutli-cat household somewhat calmer than otherwise.

Thank you for the links. Right off, I noticed the BJC, I called them and they did tell me they would take him, but they are NOT a no kill shelter. So he wont be going there. I did look through my local phone book, too. I was finally advised to go to petfinder.org and just start contacting the rescue groups.

I found a rescue group called Two by Two Rescue, that has him now posted up for adoption. Here he is looking so sweet .....

I never knew how difficult it is for these poor cats. Any homeless cat I have ever found, which hasnt been many, I just moved them into my home. Wish Dante luck ...

I have been thinking about you all day long. How are you ? I cant even say how kind of woman you are and what you have done for Layla (RIP). I hope things are getting at least a little bit easier for you and your Dear Mom.

Yes, really.

I lack one thing - he seems to be cat sociale, as he is pal with the other semi-homeless (your fertile neighbor-cat).

To describe him as house-trained may seem to be slightly overdo - he IS friendly to friendly people. Not all strays are. But his is stray - him neutered, not friendly semiferal - so this description is accurate yes.

TNR-ed cats have a mark in left ear, a jack. So his neutering was as home-cat, not part of a TNR-programme.

Heres the story as of today ........ There is not a no kill shelter in my community that is not FULL to capacity.

I have so many rescue groups working with me, getting the word out, posting him up for adoption or up for fostering, but I have had zero responses from anyone regarding adopting or fostering. ( Except the one guy from the restaurant and he never got back with me after I drilled him about no outside, no declawing etc. etc.)

I talked with my vet on Saturday, who is very aware of my current cat aggression issues. She said she strongly recommends me NOT bringing him inside my home because there (where he is being boarded) he displays a very dominant personality.

I talked with her about at least working with me on the boarding fees. She did give me a 50% discount, but it brought my total as of Saturday for medical and boarding to $230.00 ... I literally cannot afford to board him much longer !!!!! I got the word out to all the rescue groups that I just cannot afford much longer ..... and still havent heard from any takers. I called around to vets in my area to see if I could find one, since I took care of all his medical to let me board him there for free, while me and the rescue groups looked for him a home or a foster, no one would !!!!

Im starting to feel so panicked about this situation. Along with my personal cats that I keep separated, I also have a rescued Bichon Frisee that I have to keep totally separated from ALL of the cats !!!

I live in a 100 year old house that the basement ( I dont know if I can describe this) the front part of the house you come in on the 2nd floor (which looks from the front like the first floor) and the lot slopes so the back of the house there is a basement. There is a garage and one room. The garage is opened up to underneath the house where there is dirt and critters ( so I dont use it) and the one room ..... its never used either because it has small access to the dirt area. When he was down there, it was possible for him to find his way into the house. And I was constantly afraid there would be snakes in there.

I never ever knew until after talking to these rescuers the desperate situation the animals in my area are. If someone finds a stray at this particular time, with everyone being full to capacity, is either ..I dont want to even think about it.

Would one of the rescues allow you to go to an adoption day with them and get some exposurethat way? How about asking them to put him in petsmart for added exposure. Check with some of the rescues in Minnesota, I know they take animals from other states all the time. Trying going to petfinder and searching for MN rescues http://www.petfinder.com/pet.cgi?action=4 and emailing them. You might be surprised. They call us MN Nice for a reason
