Theo my new kitten has taken to scratching my new couches.
I have done the re-directing method, placing a post in front of the area and a stern "NO" and I do clip his nails regularly but he can still dig with them...I do not think I clip them down enough because I am always afraid of getting the quick.
I also have carpeted posts and sisal ones plus a huge cat tree with plenty of sisal posts to scratch on which he DOES use.
I have never had any problems with Sebastian scratching where he shouldn't. He has always loved his sisal posts. Of course you get the occassional stretch on the couch or bed which is to be expected and does not bother me.
But Theo is pretty diligent about using both the scratching posts and the couches.
I was wondering if anyone has used the spray deterrant on the furniture with success? And does it have an odor unappealing to us? I do not want my house to smell like butt...
Thanks!
