Hey fellow cat lovers!!

I just got back from Ottawa yesterday and it was a great vacation. Those of you who read my previous posts about my best friends surprise party...She was SO surprised when she saw me, she started crying and hugging me...Aw, it was really great. We had a blast all week..went to the beach a few times, of course some shopping. Went to Ikea, which was awesome cuz London doesn't have one.

I came home to find some new pets there..a bat in my laundry room, and an infestation of fruit flies...YES, the big flies are gone, and they've been replaced my hoards of fruit flies. Great
.

So, the plan for tonight is to try and get rid of the bat..and for the fruit flies, I have no idea what to do..but they are literally everywhere, and I have no food laying around so I don't know what's going on.

Anyhoo, hope you guys had a good week, and have a good long weekend (if you get one)

See ya around the forums

To get rid of the fruit flies leave a glass of red wine on your counter top over night. The files will be attracted to the wine and fly into it.

Welcome back! I'm glad you had a great time.

Why not let the bat take care of the fruit flies!

Seriously, glad you had a great vacation but it's nice to see you back.

Don't know what to do about the fruit flies - but be nice to the bat, they're lovely animals.

Um, my very high tech landlord is planning on startling it tonight by turning the basement light on, and then grabbing it in a towel when it is flying around.

Yay!!! Your back! I was wondering if this was the week you were going to the party! I'm glad to hear it all went well. Guess what? I got fruit flies this week too! I started a thread about it for help, if you wanna look it up. But so far nothing has worked.... they are soooo tiny but HUGE pains in the hiney!

Welcome Home! I'm sure Trout missed you dearly!

Welcome back! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your trip. Perhaps just leaving a window open in the laundry room before dusk would allow your visitor to escape.

Glad your trip went so well! I bet Trout is all over you.

We've been getting a few bats in our apartments lately. We trap them in a large bucket (with a lid) then release them outside. They can squeeze in through the tiniest gaps in the windows, it's amazing how they get in.
I'd really recommend that your LL doesn't use the towel method - he's running the risk of getting too close and could get bitten, and could hurt the poor bat.
