Cat Peeing - Cleaning Questions

My cat(s) have been peeing on our couches. It went through the couch and into the carpet.

I have tried some enzyme cleaner (it was Simple Solutions with Oxy Cleaner in it) and it didn't get the stain & smell all the way out. I have doused it with cleaner a couple times now. I use the blacklight on it but the spot still shows up. Is this normal? Does the spot completely go away with the blacklight if it gets cleaned up all the way?
After reading some posts on the forum here I also tried getting some vodka. I soaked it this afternoon and it didn't do a thing. I got some cheap vodka, McCormicks I think, do I have to use a certain kind?

Please help! This room doesn't have a door, most of our house is open, so I can't close it off.

Sometimes when it gets deep into the cushions the only way to get rid of the smell is to soak it in enzyme cleaner. A had a chair cushion get hit so bad by a sick cat that I ended up buying a new cushion for it.

I've also used Urine Gone and Zero Odor with some success. Simple Solutions works as good as Nature's Miracle and at about 1/2 the price.

Fill up your tub and soak it in water with laundry detergent for a while, let it dry in the sun and then reapply the enzyme solution. I don't know what you mean by a "douse", but it really needs to be totally saturated.

some of those treatments you have to do twice. I've used natures miracle on the carpet.
I spray it till its soaking wet. leave it over night and try and soak up whats left with a paper towel then I spray the spot again soaking all they way through once more.

the next day the smell was gone and stain.

couches might be harder. my mom had to get a new couch when her male sprayed on her couch. just treat the area a few times. It might take a little bit.

hmmm... I have soaked the spot on the carpet 3 or 4 times already.
I'm not counting on the smell to come out of the couch. We're just trying, but I'm not very hopeful with that one.
