Hey eveyone,

I need some help, my neighbors moved and left there dog behind locked in a garage with no food or water for about 4 days. I found the dog took her in, while I look for a home. I have two cats and they don't seem to like the dog, which I can understand. But she is such a sweetheart, and I can not keep her. I called all my local shelters (no kill) and everyone is full. I'm trying my best not to send her to animal control where they will kill her in like a week or so. I attached a link that has pictures of her. She is 14 months, really sweet dog. Would be good with a family. I stay in Atlanta, GA, if anyone knows of someone that would be interested please let me know. Thanks
Nicole

What does she have in her besides german shepard? Also, if you say so, I can cross-post it to our lab message board to see if anyone is interested.

If she is 1/2 shepard, try contacting your area German Shepard Dog rescue group.

Another idea since the shelter's are full( I know this is true), you could talk to area adoption places, and you could foster her. This would work out not only for her, being able to stay with you, but it would help you out as well since it would only be temporary.

I'm not for sure what she is mixed with. There was no paper work left or anything, but you can tell she is mix with something. Anything that You can do to help would be great. she is 14 months, weight between 30- 40 pounds. (I don't think she evens weighs 40 pounds). I would be very thankful if you could post that on the message board.

Thanks so much
Nicole

I thought about just keeping her. However my roommate is not really a dog person, and said she doesn't want a dog in her house.(She is renting a room out to me). So I can't keep her, but that would have been perfect.

I understand you can't keep her, but I guess my point was since she is already in your care for the time, and if you have the time, you could simply foster her, and bring her to adoptions. This is way better than possibly having to take her to AC, or something of that nature. At least with you she will get the love and care she need's, and bringing her to adoptions will give her exposure to possible adoptee's. Maybe if can, you can convince your roommate that it is only a temporary stay for her in her home.
