Last year, Gizmo weighed 19 pounds. This was after a year of a diet that led her to gain a pound, from 18 to 19. It was making her wheeze when she breathed, and I could hear it from several feet away. My vet was concerned and said I MUST get the weight off her. So between limiting her dry food, and feeding her lots of good quality canned food, she now weighs..... 12.9 pounds! my vet is very happy, said she's in great shape. He said her weight is just about perfect for her, and to aim to keep her where she is.

And, not a cat but still an amazing feat, my dog Lucky has lost 15 pounds! He weighed in at 99.9 pounds at his last visit, and my vet said that he was way too fat, plus he's got weak hips so he needs to be a little on the lean side. With diet and exercise I've gotten him down to 85 pounds. We've still got a little ways to go, but he's getting there!

My vet visit (with a total of 9 animals, enough to be charged an "extended" office call, LOL) was completely positive! Not a bit of bad news, and plenty of good news!

That sounds great, but what I'm really wondering is..................
How in the world do you get 9 animals to the vet at one time???

Well 5 of them were the orphan kittens, so they all went in the same cage, which I sat on the front seat and anchored down with the seatbelt. It's low enough to be out of the way if the airbag went off. Sunny my 3 1/2 month old kitten went in a small carrier on the front floor. Gizmo rode in a bigger carrier in the middle of the back seat, seatbelted in. Zoey sat on the driver side back seat, wearing her car seat harness, anchored to the ring in the back dash made for a child safety seat. Lucky wore his car seat harness and sat on the passenger side back seat, anchored to the ring in the back dash. And my vet office scheudled me during a slow time so the vet techs could help wrangle! I left the cages in the waiting room and took the dogs in (Lucky needed a vaccination and Zoey needed a microchip) and then the techs took them up behind the counter and played with them while we dealt with the cats' needs. I spend a LOT of money at my vet, so they try to accomodate me any way they can. What was funny was that there was a lady in the waiting room with 2 cats when I was getting ready to leave, and she said "Ah you brought the whole crew with you today?" I said "Oh no, there's still 3 dogs, another cat, 4 rats, a guinea pig, and a bearded dragon at home." I asked her if she wanted to trade vet bills, but she said no! LOL! Actually it wasn't a bad bill at all. Only came to $180. I've spent more than that on one visit with one animal before.
