I've just joined this site, at the suggestion of a friend. I've already posted an introduction message, but, unfortunately, I think I posted it as a reply to someone else's introduction. So, if you're reading this for the second time, my apologies.
I've taken a look around the site, and I googled "ear amputation" - nothing like starting out with a big topic, huh? Well it's something I'm facing with my 9 yr. old tabby right now. But I ended up on a thread about leg amputation, and I was in tears by the end of the thread. One member was trying to decide whether to amputate or euthanize (several complicating factors involved). The people on this sight appear to be the types that I have always found real animal lovers to be: kind, compassionate, and so ready to help.
I don't know what happened to the cat that I was reading about since the internet shut down and I lost the page, but, I have no doubt that the owner made the right choice because she made it with a loving heart.
See you prowling on the forums.....
BTW: 6 cats at present
1. Milo (ear problem), 9 yrs, grey tabby, male
2. Baby (fat problem), 9 yrs, black, male
3. Chloe (cute problem), 3 yrs, calico, female
4. Buddy (ugly problem), 3 yrs, black/white, male
5. Max (location problem....AWOL), 2 yrs, orange tabby, male
6. Sam (socialization problem), ? yrs, not old, probably Maine Coon
