Do you still have something from your wedding day, other than your spouse/ex spouse?

(Sorry for those of you who aren't married yet)

It's ridiculous the stuff I still have, but then again I just got married last year.

My best friend really appreciates it however, because she's getting married next week and has been poking through everything that's stored in my mom's basement and using what she likes. Silk flowers, an archway, baskets, candles that were never lit, etc...

in a pile of open toed shoes!
Yup, I have everything! My dress, my sparkly blue shoes, my album & video, the baskets that we had our programs in & the flower girl basket. I have a collage of the black & white photos framed on my dining room wall. Tom makes fun of all the pics I have up everywhere. He always says "you know what it's like to walk into every room & see pictures of yourself???"
Oh, I also have my lingerie, my garter, the ring pillow, my boustier, my jewelry, my wedding gift from Tom- a diamond bezeled movado, of course my rings.... a few programs, and invitations, a few of the favors, and the "match books" note pads we gave out. My swarovski champagne flutes.... my tiara, the birdcage for our envelopes.... and that's all I can think of now.

I had mom's dress and my sister's bridesmade dress I'd have to check downstairs to see if I still have them. some napkins, wedding pics/video, still using many of the wedding/shower presents, my gift from DH I guess lots of stuff!!

Along these lines.. When you have a wedding dress preserved - can you still wear it years later? Whats the point of preservation? I need to have this done to my dress but if you can't wear it (maybe a daughter?) then there is no point.

Properly stored, you (or daughter) should still be able to wear your dress.

My sis has had her dress (1967) out for a church fashion show (my niece wore it) and an aunt got her's out for a church function, too. Aunt took out some stitches and was able to wear it though she was a little larger than she was then (1964). (My mom made her dress - triple row of gathered lace in layers in a full skirt - and before the wedding aunt started losing weight from nerves. Her waist was small enough! Mom threatened to force feed her as she couldn't take the waist in anymore.

I was smart enough to buy separates for my wedding outfit, so now I can wear them again and again.

I saved my wedding flowers in a ceramic jar.

The corset is in my closet. The belt is also. I plan to wear both again.

I saved my caketopper in a cheap jewelry box.

I gave my garter away but I had a replica in my closet.

All the makeup I wore on my wedding day was saved. I am so glad I did not hire an makeup artist. The money I saved I splurged on fancy makeup.

I have digital pictures but I forgot to print them out.

We didn't have a lot on our wedding. We spent around $200. As a result we practically had to save everything in order to have decent memoirs.

I don't even have the same ring - we replaced it with a nicer one than we couldn't afford at the time. I'm not big on sentimental keepsakes. All we have are the photos, and we didn't hire a photographer. I'm glad we didn't, we love the photos and one day I might get around to putting them into a nice album.
