in a pile of open toed shoes!
Yesterday I started gathering up a load of towels for the wash, and I piled them up on my bathroom floor, waiting for my husband to get his shower that night to start the load. When Tom came home we had dinner, and then I went in the bathroom to pee. I see these 2 little black things on my pink tiled floor (yes pink, pepto pink to be exact
), apon closer examination they looked to me like spider legs. They had small reddish colored stripes on them. But I could see no spider. And LuckyGirl just sat in the door way and watched me. I asked her "did you kill a spider?" and she just Meow'd back.

Later that night I grab the towels and when I dropped a wash cloth I almost had a freaking heart attack. I screamed & jumped back when I saw this giant spider laying under my towels. I'm talking 2 inches long, and and inch in width. There was LuckyGirl standing in the doorway, happily admiring her kill! My husband came running cause of my scream and my mass exodus into the hallway, practically taking out the bathroom door. He was kind of proud of Lucky telling her she was a good girl, a good protector, and a good hunter. And of course she was beaming at the praise from her "daddy". So Tom had to pick it up (with tissue) and flush it. And LuckyGirl is my Hero!!!!

I had to look it up this morning, I was worried as to what it could be, and could it be poisonous. She didn't eat it, like she does with flies, so I thought maybe she got bit by it, and the spider ran for cover under my towels. They do bite, but it's just a spider bite... nothing to be worried over! Thank God!

I hope I eventually have a cat that kills bugs.. we get these HUGE ants in our apartment.. *shudder*
We have a couple of smallish spiders in our bedroom, but they stay on the ceiling and eat all the other bugs, so they can stay for now. but if they come down from the ceiling, they are gone gone gone. ick.

Great work, LuckyGirl! You're a superb hunter!!!

Captain Steuben is an insect master torturer. He pulls off the legs, divides them into segments, sits on them, bats them around...it's a bit sick, but hey, I'll gladly let him!

If I saw that thing in my house--dead or alive--I'd have a freakin heart attack.

Good thing you have the fearless LuckyGirl to protect you!

Nathan catches bugs for me (some of you may remember my posting to the Health forum after I caught Nathan with a giant water bug sticking out of his mouth
). Nedicks on the other hand sniffs at bugs for so long they sometimes crawl up onto her nose. I swear to God. I don't know how many times I have found her sitting there looking cross-eyed at her own nose with a teeny little black spider or beetle sitting on it.
My girl. She's sweet, but she's dim.

Would Lucky like to come and have it out with the garden spider who keeps putting its web across our sidewalk? I am not fond of walking through it all the time!!

Way to go Luckygirl!

Poor Nedicks - we have our own 'sweet but dumb' child (Slayer), though Nedicks and her 'bug hunting' takes the prize

oh I hate spiders. Tavia is always catching mice and she leaves them laying in the hallway. And I have to be careful so as not to find them with my feet. Because I am not fond of those either.

I saw one of these last night and called Polly into the bathroom. She sniffed it and tried to bat at it, but she hit it down the vent. Then she kept looking around for it.
