Hi guys!!

I need some advice please

A little while ago we had an appointment to take our kitty Bean into the vet to get fixed, the day before her appointment she got outside and didnt come back for 2 weeks!!! we were so happy to get her back but after that she escaped two more times... a few weeks ago we realized that she is pregnant but we are unsure which time she was out that did it so we have no idea how far along she is.

shes HUGE now, and her nipples are as well... looks like shes lactating only its a little dry.

Last night she had a discharge that I think was her mucus plug... It was gooey and clear.. it blobbed out onto my boyfriends arm (much to his dismay!haha)

she began to act restless and doesnt want us to leave her side, but at the same time she suddenly scratches at our faces. She cant stop eating either. Now its close to 12 hours later and i dont believe shes having contractions or anything yet.
We were watching her belly and theres little pokes every now and then like a jump or a bubble... maybe the babies are moving?
what do contractons look like??
does she sound close??
Should I stay by her side tonight??

thanks so much for your help everyone!!
Sorry this post was so long!!!!!!

Same thing I told Missy's momma earlier, all cats are different, some loose their poor little mucus plug right then and there and then wait a few days to have the babies, some, like my baby and Missy's momma did it all in one day. I guess she figured why waste time with a prelude, lol. So it depends, not wanting to leave your side and preparing a nest are all indications she may be close, how close is really undeterminable. Cats are very little mysterious creatures and they truly have their own sense of timing, lol even though it drives us mommy's mad. Be patient with her and feed her very healthy foods IF she will take it. Be with her as much as you can b/c she wants you there for a reason. Contractions remind you of a hiccup if you cat it at the end, but they look like a hard jerk in the leg/thigh area. It's almost like a pulling. If panting and purring begins, close off all areas that she can run to, to have her kittens that may be harmful b/c they do try the harshest places. Have her nesting area ready but be prepared with a blanket just in case she has other plans lol
and as the old saying goes, "and then...we wait"

Most importantly, don't let her out the house until she is spayed along w/ her offspring, and if she is having active contractions for over an hour panting, but no babies call your vet immediately. Otherwise than that, they pretty much got it down pat, even the first-timers believe it or not. Just don't forget to breathe

Most likely not. She should not have a large amount of discharge while pregnant. I really sounds like the plug..

I will confuse you even more!!

My cat had her kittens Sunday. There was no warning, other than the day or so before she purred alot and slept with us. She didn't pant, didn't cry and sisn't change her eating habits. No discharge or plug noticed. I woke up and she has just had the first one in a box on the bedroom floor. I was with her for the other 2 and she actually was on her back, with her but up high over her head (picture a gymnast!) to deliver her second. No crying out at all. The she just pushed the last one out. Never a peep!

I was 'ready', looking for all the signs...and nothing!

wow!!

well that makes me feel a little better actually cuz i'm gettin worried.. nothing yet... she keeps hiding under the bed and doesnt really want to come out, shes not eating as much... but I think shes just bored from being stuck in one room all day...

shes not panting or purring or anything like that...

i dunno if this is it or not!!

You just never know....I kept Missy in the master bathroom for almost a week thinking any day she would deliver. Then one night the kids let her out and I thought it would be ok to let her be out one night
I think she was holding out....she delivered all by herself....I missed the whole thing
Woke up the next morning to 5 babies

I'd be careful to not let her in a room where she can get under a bed. This can make it difficult for you to monitor the babies once they are born. Moving them after they are born might upset the mother.

Very True, I was lucky with the fact that Missy let me move her and the babies and she loves the bed we have them in
She barely lets me take them all out to clean the bedding, she keeps jumping back in

Well she has since come out from under the bed

still no babies though.... seems like its just not going to happen

she keeps trying to get out, I think shes pretty bored
I was wondering if shes holding out because I think she found a place in the basement she really likes, but I dont want her to go down there its too dangerous since parts of it are unfinished.

man oh man! this waiting game is difficult! hehe
no changes in her behaviour though, I just dont know!!

Well, it looks like your baby is taking the high road, lol. Don't worry. There are those who like me, had it all in one day, and then those who waited a few days after seeing the mucus plug come out. BUT rest assured if that mucus plug came out you are VERY close and I would warn you to PLEASE when you go to work put mama and her birthing box, water, and litter pan in a cool room closed off where she can NOT get under beds, dressers, and all those dangerous places that they love so much to have their babies. That way if she does decide to have them while you are at work, she has a safe haven.

I am in the same boat. I don't know whether my cat is gonna pop or not. She is in her nesting area today and her tummy has felt rock hard since late last night. She came up to me and gave me a headbutt this morning. I can't take the suspence any more send contraction vibes o.k. I hope your kitty has them soon
Keep us posted and let us see some pictures.

Well the truth of the matter is the wait is long sometimes. If you saw that mucus plug then you will be seeing babies soon, but the time from when the plug comes out varies from cat to cat when the actual birthing takes place. I know its hard but patience is key.
She will go when she is ready to go, and as much as we wish she would just come on already and quit teasing us
she has her own timing. It sounds like in the next week you both should have some kittens around.

Just dont forget under the bed is a very unsafe place for a cat to have kittens b/c of the human factor, we could step on them and all kinds of things. Also, make sure that you place your kittens some where secure when you leave for work like the bathroom, or maybe a spare room that is safe for mother and kits. That way there will be no surprises when you return home.

NEXT WEEK? I think not. If she does not pop soon I'll think I will have a stroke.
This waiting game is awfull. I don't know how breeders do it. I think when she actually does go into labor I'll have a heart attack. I'm going out tonight with family. If she has them when I am gone There will be hell to pay.
I'll let you know where she is at when I get home. Keep your paws crossed! Darc

I'm still waiting!!!!!!! man oh man this is taking forever, I wish we knew how far along she is so we can be sure

We went through our calendar and figured she'd be due this week or next IF it was the first time she got out that she got preggers!

this waiting game is NOT fun! haha at least we're not alone
