Oh no, what a nightmare! I'm soooo glad you found out what was going on, though, and that you found another vet to take care of it.

Thoughts and prayers for you both.

I feel a pit in my stomach for you & Willie... I was already losing sleep over taking LuckyGirl to get spayed in September, and now I am even more sick over it. I pray that Willie gets better soon.....

Thanks for the prayers

I'm giving Willie big hugs for you right now, WhiteCatLover.

LuckyGirl, dont worry about getting her spayed it should be OK, things like this are really rare. Just dont go to the Greenlawn Animal Hospital!!

I am so afraid for the times in the future that I have other cats when I have to get them spayed and nuetered(im not going to be able to)

Lets all just hope that Willie's infection wont spread to his abdomen. Its a pretty big infection, right above the open wound. Thats why we have to keep him on a sterile sheet all day.

Keep hoping!!

Sorry I havent updated. Ive been computerless since Monday.

So heres whats happening. On Tuesday we brought him to the vet because he was doing so well. He doesn't have to wear that stupid cone anymore and we gave him free roam of my room. The reason for this is because one night, in the middle of the night (I wasn't home), my mothedr heard him crying but then he stopped, so she rolled back over. She woke up that morning with him next to her. He had hoped over his 2 1/2ish foot crate, went down the stairs, hoped the gate, and walked into my moms room.Crazy!!

His infection is I guess all gone, and his neurological problems are getting better day by day. Hes doing great. He can ever come downstairs now and hang out with the other animals. The dogs are learning that you have to let Willie eat, and then you can have his leftovers(Willie has to eat on the floor now because if he falls over the counters because he is not as stable, he could hurt himself. He can walk, run, play, chase, bite(lol), and basically do everything a cat needs to do!!

One things for sure, and that is that Willie is not going to be put tosleep. He staying right here with us, that little trooper he is!!

What do you guys think, should I talk tyo the origional vet? Should I ask him for some money for the bills I had to pay? Should I ask him to donate back to the Shelter I got Willie from (who buy the way payed for the neutering)? What should I do?

Thanks for all the prayers for Willie, I think it helped..

And you know what else helped? Tina, my older cat that I found dead on the morning of February 7th, after being sick for a long time. (I got Willie on May 8th, he was 9 weeks old, which would make his birthday March 6th) Was in just a coinsidence that he was born exactly a month after Tina died?

I think Tina gave me Willie in the first place, and Tina let me keep him.
I'll never forget you Tina, no matter what other great cat I have in my life!!

God love you, Willie! I'm glad that he found you and that you are determined to keep him and love him! No, I don't think it was a coincidence! I think Tina sent him to you to love and care for because she knew he would be taken care of and that you needed a kitty to love!

I'm so happy to hear that he is improving. Good luck to both of you. Rest in Peace Tina, play happily at the Bridge!

Re: the original vet - I would definately tell him everything that was done wrong, perhaps with a written report from the new vet. Have a look for DixieDarlin's 'you've got to be kidding me' thread - as with any other professional field, there are dangerously stupid or criminal vets, too. Depending on whether your new vet thinks what happened was an awful mistake or gross unprofessionalism, I would consider trying to have him deregistered as a vet.
