Morning all!

Sadly the Land of Manc has lost the heat wave and now has wind and rain!
But they say the sun will be back for the weekend!

Have lots of housework and sorting to do today (in the warm!) so hopefully by the end of the day the place will be beautiful and I'll even have time to bake another cake!

Just cooking some chicken breast for the kitties!

Have a great day everyone!!

Daughter spent the night in the Land of Manc last night and is flying from there today, so send no turbulence vibes please

Windy here too with the odd shower now and again. It's nice and fresh though

Hubby's just washing the car, then we may go for a walk along the canal bank (as long as it doesn't decide to throw it down between now and then)!

Otherwise, I'll be here paying bills
, sorting out the files on my computer (every megabyte regained is valuable
) and generally enjoying being on holiday from work!

Oooh, where's your daughter jetting off to?

Sending many smooth flight }}}VIBES{{{ her way! I hope the terrible weather doesn't delay her flight!

I hope you manage to go for your walk instead of paying bills, too!!

Don't you just love the Great British weather?

She's off to even colder climes - going to the land of cabbages and vodka, Latvia. I've had the airport live departures/arrivals screen on my computer all morning and the flight in from Riga is a bit early (blown by the wind I should think
) and is due to leave on time.

A walk would be nice - there's a good pub at the end of it, so there is an incentive

Yup - gotta love the Great British weather. It can't be in between, it's either so hot you can't breathe or so miserable it feels like winter
. I keep ordering about 70 degrees with a slight fresh breeze, but somehow the message doesn't get through.

It probably was blown in judging by the pots rolling around my garden!

Latvia!
At least the vodka should keep her warm!
Pleased to hear that it should be on time! (I hadn't realised you could view the live departures online - shows how long it's been since I last flew!)

You could even grab a pub lunch after your walk, a definite incentive if you ask me - even despite any unusual weather!

I agree, I would love to have the warm weather back with a slight breeze - would at least allow us all to function!!
It really has gone from peak of Summer to mid Autumn in such a short space of time!!

I even have the heating on and some long trousers!

Laughed at that as I had the heating on too yesterday!

I have actually complained a lot about the crazy heat we had. Its fine if you are on a beach or in the garden...but in a non air-conditioned car or office, it was just unbearable. And my house was so warm at night I could not sleep! Its the first year I ever recall it being so hot!

Seems so daft having the heating on in August, doesn't it?!!
I'm glad I'm not the only one though!!

Another thing about us Brits is that we're never happy with the weather, are we?!

True but its not our fault... The Weather Gods live on clouds...and where are those clouds situated? Yes, thats right...floating over the UK. Any major event..Wimbledon...your annual camping holiday...the day you get a new hairstyle... they come out to play with their buckets. And when you are stuck at work, they turn their central heating on and laugh.

Good morning!

Tomorow is another hot and humid day

But with some luck, we might get another thunderstorm. The one we had yesterday was pretty awesome. Strong winds, lots of rain and the lightning just didn't stop. For about an hour, I don't think we went more than 5 seconds without lightning. It was pretty cool. Too bad it happened while I was walking home from the university

Today it seems like I will be getting my first fosters: a bunch of lab mice. I don't know how many yet. I've never had mice before... they're gonna be so cute

I will also get the fish tank ready to get my fish soon. The store has them in stock again and I'll probably go Friday to get them. I'm SO excited. I'll be getting about half a dozen of saulosi cichlids.

Good Morning all! I am very tired today. We went to visit some friends last night and didn't get in till 10:30. Then getting the kitters to bed and me to fall asleep put me to sleep at about 11:30. Yuck! Plus I think I am coming down iwht a cold. Sneezing, watery eyes, congestion.

Gee, your weather sorta sounds like out weather! Maybe that's why ggg-grandpa Bond settled here. (He was from Norfolk.)

Will do the same as yesterday. Stay indoors out of the heat and enjoy the cool, surf the web, and maybe watch a Star Trek movie commentaries. Or maybe drive mom crazy and watch Phantom of the Opera again...

Good Morning Everyone!!!

I'm pretty tired this morning...my BIL called my house this morning at 5:30am. So it was hard to get back to sleep... I am having a key lime pie yogurt for breakfast this morning, it's very yummy!

I got our "free sample" of greenies yesterday. I must say that LuckyGirl really likes them! One of our little family traditions is that I carry her into bed with us, then she plays rough with daddy and the sheets for a bit. She likes it when he pokes a finger under the sheets, she goes into attack mode and then they "play fight"... after that it's treat time! And she gets a bedtime snack, we actually keep some treats on the night stand. She is very pleased with her Greenies!!!

Hope everyone has a great day!!!

After surviving another humid night on the air mattress in the family room I might actually be able to sleep upstairs!!
Our lawn is returning to green once again now that (hopefully) our drought related weather has broken-but LOT OF WEEDS!!
Really to soggy to do anything outside that sit. Have read a book a day for the past several days-I'm going stir crazy!!!
Have a headache still-might be related to "aunt Flo"!!
No much on tap-maybe I'll go to video store once it opens and rent a movie or two for this afternoon.
Stay cool-we are all survining this weather together!!!
