Funny noises! does yours do this ?

Whenever I get home from work or catch him unaware while he is up to know good he makes such a cute and daft noise its like a purr and a beep!
like a brrrp *giggles*

Is this just him ? I mean neighbours cats and stuff never make that noise at me !

That's what I assume is a chirp... our kitten, Libby, does it a LOT.

If she's napping and you disturb her, she does it. Also if she's about to lay beside you/get on your lap she does it too. She does it when she's playing, running around, walking by you....

In fact I think she makes this noise more than she meows... and it's SO cute!

From what I read it's a greeting and also can mean 'follow me' but the way Libs uses it, it means everything and anything, lol.

My kitty meows at me normally when I get home so I can tell she is saying HI! Where have you been?

But later as she runs around the place she keeps squeeking and chirping and doing these little meows - I thought she wanted me to play with her so I followed and tossed some toys, etc. No. Not that. Ok, so then I figured she wanted some lovvies and petting, uh no, not that either. I have no idea why she does that - she wants my attention but doesn't seem interested when she gets it.

Maybe she just likes to vocalize when she is feeling frisky. I keep trying to figure out if she needs or wants something but I haven't yet. It is very cute but kinda weird too.

Wonton chirrups if you disturb him in his sleep (even if you just cough or sneeze or speak too loudly). he also does it if he sees a bird or squirrel, or hears a funny noise. it's adorable

Sometimes my Pixel chirps when she purrs and I've noticed Peek does this too.

But if it sounds anywhere near as cute as he is in his picture--oh he is adorable!!

My Hannah makes all kinds of chirping, trilling, squeaking, peeping noises. It's so cute!! She even does the silent meow!! What I think is so funny is that when we play hide & seek, she always makes some kind of noise as if to say, "I'm in here!"

that is what heyu does also. she even does when i wake and roll over in bed.
hehe i feel like she saying stop moving around in the bed i am trying to sleep here

Both of my kittens chirp and it is the cutest thing. I have never had cats other than momma cats that did that.

Penelope will chirp when she is especially feeling lovey. Mostly when my BF pets her. She just loves him

Bob does it when he is running around like a freaky kitten that he is. I think he is just having so much fun that he needs to announce it

chloe squeaks instead of meowing. everyday she greets me with a high-pitched "Mom!" my family thought i was making it up when i said she called me mom until they heard her do it. she also says, "no" and "yeah."

i love the silent meow it's sooo pitaful!! Phoebe looks at me with these wanting eyes and her mouth opens but nothing comes out!! lol

My baby Tsuki makes so many of the cutest noises. She chirps, she mews, she says "momma" and she also makes this "rrrrrruppp?" sound whenever she's interested in something I'm doing.

So is a chirp done with a closed mouth? Lily makes this really cute sound with her mouth closed. It's like she's purring and humming at the same time. Sometimes she does it in the middle of a purr. She'll do it if she's playing, about to jump into my lap, bouncing around the room, and I've even heard her using it to announce that she was entering the litterbox!

She also squeaks and has a tiny raspy meow, which she just recently learned how to do. She meows when she's expecting canned food because she gets really excited. I think our other kitten Eve (major talker!) is teaching her how to talk.
