Do you get excited about stupid things?

I haven't had a checking account in ages, but recently, for business purposes, I had to open one.

So I did, and being the cheapskate that I am, I order the standard ugly checks that my credit union offers for free.

I did splurge though on a really pretty green and tan, leather and suede checkbook.

The checks and checkbook arrived today and I've been like a little kid filling my checkbook with blank checks, credit cards etc.

It's like a new toy!

Yes! I actually ould love to order custom checks but I don't really see the point. But I get really excited when they come out with pretty stamps! I love the Disney Romance series and I have been using those lately. So pretty!

I used to get those!!! With Cinderella & Prince charming, and Snow white & her Prince.... they are so cute. Now we have these American type checks with the flag & stuff on them... I think when you ordered them they donated some of the profits to the 9/11 families or something like that....

My husband and I have found that it is actually cheaper to order the custom checks out of the Sunday paper or SuperSavers than order from our bank. Our account doesn't come with free checks, though. Thru our bank 200 checks is $19.99, but the custom ones are always less than $10.

It is good to know that I'm not the only one who gets excited about stuff like that!!

i'm totally like that. the band Yeti sang "never lose your sense of wonder, even if you lose all else", and it's a motto i go by. when i get a new wallet i have fun taking everything out and re-arranging it, making it look all neat and nice. i've had my drivers license for about 8 years now and i STILL get excited about driving, because i waited so long to get it (til i was 25 or so). i was so excited when we brought home Wonton's cat tree, you would have thought it was meant for ME. i dunno, i just appreciate things, i guess. there are ppl in this world who don't get to drive, or open a checking account, or get a new wallet. i feel thankful for all the good things in my life, even the little things. and the not so little th ings, like the 16 lb tabby currently sleeping in my lap and making my leg fall aseep

Yah I agree. First time I had baby animal checks, beyond cute! Then zoo animals. This time we got some free checks with our checking account so we stuck with those. Now I have to change my name so I will need new checks. I will look in the paper or online .

I finally ordered different check for our main checking acct-with flowers!!!
For my business acct-I got the boring ones from the bank they were still $20.
DH business checks are boring too-I don't know if he pd for them or if they were free-he writes so few checks though it doesn't matter!!
Next time I'll order from the same place as our personal checking
