I just got through checking Lee's e-mail for him. He has been waiting on an e-mail from Gambro. Well it just came in. He has a tentative interveiw set up for the 22nd. All he has to do is give the time he wants it. OMG! I feel sick to my stomach. His training in Germany with be from October 2006 to Jan 2008. I am excited yet nervous. I want to laugh and cry at the same time. We don't even know if he is going to get the job but just the thought scares me. That is a long time to be away from eachother. Please everyone spare some get the job vibes. I have a feeling Lee really wants this!

No. We would be seperated for that time. I would be able to go visit but I think the rules are he isn't allowed to bring family to stay mroe than 3 months because it would be a distraction. I can't imaging the phone bills we are going to run up. We haven't been apart more than 1 week in the 3 1/2 years we have been together.

That sucks! What would he do if he was married with kids??? Just leave them for over a year???
That hardly seems fair....

I guess you'll be spending a little less time on TCS, and a little more time sending him emails!

well i hope he gets it.
I
f he has access to the internet, yahoo has voice, and skype is a really good voice program. Also the rates are cheaper to call a land or cell phone then a normal land line phone is. Since my SO has to go back to Indo alot for her company we have been using skype to voice talk to each other.

Also a web cam does help when you want to really see a the person you are talking to. just some ideas for you

Good luck to Lee

We survived only seeing each other for a couple of weeks every three months, it brings you close together.

I use Vonage and get free landline calls to Europe (I know it is only certain countries at the moment but its worth checking out), sometimes its easier to use a phone than using a headset for skype or IM chat and also have a virtual number in the UK and US for my friends to call me - so they just have to make a local call and we can chat all we like

We have vonage here. We don't have a computer at home yet. But if he goes we will be getting one for sure. Rumor is the guy that we gave the application to said if they want the jobs all they have to do is say the word.

I meant the free Europe calls were only certain countries - I know I can call France and UK but not Poland, so check with them on whether Germany is included... $25 for all the calls you want to him is great

Thanks everyone!! I will have to see about the US to Gemrany calls. If not then we can do like voice messaging online or just IMing or something. It won't be the same that is for sure!!

I just looked it up and it looks like its going to cost about 5 cents a minute. Which you are right, isn't bad at all.
