My wife and I attended the TICA southest regional cat show in Bessemer, Alabama this weekend, so I took a few pictures of our cats in the rings. It's difficult to take good pictures or to even remember to take pictures with all the comotion, so I didn't get many pics or real good ones, but here are a few anyway.

This is our 6 month old silver/black spotted boy, Full Metal Jacket (Jack) being judged. He was awarded 6th and 8th best all breed kitten at this show with 60 kittens competing.

Here is Jack again being awarded his ribbon with the judge explaining to the crowd what she liked about Jack. (Jack must be embarassed, he's hiding behind his ribbon...he's number 69)

This is our seal mink spotted boy, Arctic Cowboy (Rodeo) being awarded 7th best kitten in all breed class with 60 kittens competing.

Here is our brown spotted girl being judged. Unfortunately the competition was pretty tough at this show and she didn't final in any rings this time. But she was often in the top 5 in her breed. She was up against her brother Rodeo and Jack, so it's ok.

Your cats are beautiful!

Okay... how on earth are these cats all so well-behaved when half of the things in the picture look like cat toys?!? They're all just sitting pretty, when there are beads and feathers and ribbons everywhere! Is that a Mardi Gras theme? What do they do with that spray bottle?

Congratulations on doing so well! You must be so proud of your babes.

Thank-you!

Yes, there are lots of potential "cat toys" everywhere, but the cats are so distracted by all the noise and throngs of people, they sort of mellow out.
Plus nearly all of these cats have been at shows before, so they're just relaxed. It does however take a special personality of cat to exhibit well at a cat show.
Each ring at this show had it's own theme, and Mardi Gras was one of them. The judges even handed out beads to the winner's owners.
The spray bottle is a dis-infectant, used to spray the podium and for the judge to clean her/his hands after each cat they handle. A worthwhile precaution to prevent any possible diseases from being spread.
We were very proud of our kittens at this show, it was big show and they did well amongst many spectacular cats. There were so many great kittens competing, I wouldn't have wanted to be a judge......the decisions had to be tough.

Very nice cats you have.

It's interesting to see the black/silver spotted cat, very beautiful. I don't know if that colour even exist here in Sweden. I have never seen one before. If/when I get one other Bengal I would like one of that colour.
I look forward to more pictures of him.
