I bought Anya her first pair of Soft Claws yesterday and put them on. I got them on while she was still half asleep (she'll let me do anything then). She left them alone for about an hour and then she chewed off 2 of them and then another one while I was reapplying the two. She was also NOT happy that I was reapplying them and was not nearly as cooperative as the first time.

I wake up this morning and she's missing about three of them again. Am I not putting enough glue in or is she just good at chewing them off? It's the same paw that she keep wrangling them off of. If this keeps up we're going to spend a fortune in these little nail caps....

So essentially my questions are: Should she be able to get them off this easily? Will she adjust soon and stop chewing them? She's going to be so mad at me if I just keep following her around and slapping them back on.

I had the same problem with them. I wasn't getting enough glue into them. I don't like the fact that you can't squeeze the soft paws glue. You just have to wait for it to run out of the tube. My solution? Super glue. (or was it Krazy Glue?) The applicator tips for the soft paws glue will fit right over the super glue tip so you can easily get the glue into the caps. The ones I applied with superglue haven't come off yet, and it's been about 2 weeks. I think that she will eventually get used to them if you keep reaplying them. Good luck!

I was thinking as I was getting it on my fingers that it felt just like superglue. All I wonder is if maybe its made up of different chemicals. Would using superglue instead be bad for the cat? Do chemicals from the glue seep in through their nails? I tend to worry too much... Maybe someone will come along that knows more on the topic.

I wouldn't use super glue. I can squeeze the nail caps glue tube. Lily takes them off herself, too.

Is there enough glue there? Are the caps too big? Do her nails need to be clipped/are too long?

Some other members here suggested the superglue saying that they'd used it too.

I can squeeze the nail caps glue tube.
With the set that I got, the glue was in a hard plastic tube.

Well, tonight we only had to replace 4. I waited until she was taking a nap to put them on. I know...sneaky meowmy....

I used the glue that came with it again but tried to better coat the insides of the caps. Hope they stay better.

The nails I really have trouble with are the fifth nails that are to the inside and higher up on the paw than the other four. It seems like she is able to chew these off better, plus the caps just don't seem to fit on these as well. We'll see.

They will try forever at first to get the caps off until they get used to them... it does sound like you should put more glue in the caps and make sure you've got the right size... Oliver's "thumb" claws seem to not stay on quite as long as the others too, havent figured out why yet though....

When I got up this morning she was only missing the one "thumb" claw again. I may just let it go. Sh doesn't seem to do any damage with it....so far....
