snot colored discharge

hi, my friend's cat is having some problems. he has snot colored mucus coming out of his back end. it is somewhat clear and green, but not pussy. does anyone have any ideas what this could be?

Sounds like he has infected anal glands and needs immediate medical treatment which involves expressing or draining the diseased anal gland along with a round of Antibiotics!!!

Please have your friend take the cat to the Vet Immediately - infections are nothing to be played with and are to be taken very seriously!!!!
