Cats are hunters. She's just doing what comes naturally. And from her point of view, I suppose fresh just tastes better.

I hope you're protecting her from the parasites she can catch when hunting wild food.

Honestly, I agree with what Tim and Sharky have said. Even the best kibble just doesn't taste as good as real, fresh meat from your cats point of view
As long as she has access to the outdoors, she'll hunt. It's what cats do.

Just one thought..

Sometimes cats dont agree with Mom and Dad as to what the best food is
I was buying the expensive 'specially formulated' food from the vets and my two absolutly refused to touch it! So much for trying to make sure they were eating the best there is out there

Try some other brands and/or flavours and see if there is a reduction in her hunting. I also agree with what Coaster said, make sure she is vaccinated against the parasites and illnesses carried by rabbits and other wildlife. Have you tried putting a bell on her collar? Its not totally effective but it might give some warning to the wild rabbits out there. Good Luck!

Two of mine catch wild things all the time
which I hate ! usually birds, but Pepsi is the rabbit catcher and.................she loves to eat em up !!

sometimes she leaves an odd ear or maybe a leg when shes had enough
which is just great when I find it under a chair or something !! Cats eh...........who have em...............................ME of course !
oh BTW, they still eat normal cat food as well..........greedy guts !!

One other interesting factoid that relates to this thread: I've read that cats are known as the only predator to hunt even when they don't need to hunt to satisfy hunger. They'll hunt solely for the satisfaction of catching prey. That's why domestic cats that go outdoors often bring freshly killed (and sometimes still-alive) prey back into the house to present to their human companions.
