I posted before about my cat moewing a lot when she has everything she needs and doesn't want to be petted/play.
Lately she's now started chirping a lot too. I thought chirping was only a happy sound but sometimes she does it when it seems like she's annoyed.
Today I went to stroke her and she chirped at me and ducked out of the way. So I picked her up to tell her she's silly and give her a snuggle and she did this bizarre meow at me. Think of the way a police/ambulance siren changes pitch as it goes, well that's how her meow was. It was very quiet and didn't sound angry, more sad.
I can't find any mention of this noise. Again, I thought meows were mainly happy noises unless they were loud/harsh sounding.
This may sound stupid, but do kittens take a while to figure out which sounds mean which? I'm 99.99% sure the answer's no, as it seems silly that they would. I just don't understand the noises she makes at the times she makes!
