I thought I'd get off my other topic since the title sounded depressing. All the babies are doing good so far and nursing away. Just have to keep an eye on the runt's foot which had a couple toes accidentally chewed off (while trying to cut cord). Here are some updated pictures from this morning:

Akiem - Boy

Cayko - Girl (smallest)

Pheonix - Girl

Storm - Girl (Biggest)

Its her back foot. One claw left, one just missing the claw, one toe that might just be missing some skin/claw, and then one toe that is missing a joint. If we can get by without any infection then I would think this will heal up similar to a declaw. Its a rough start to life for her
. We have people interested in her already. Often special cases go to the heart a little more though I wish we could keep her! She so far looks the most like her mom (color wise).

They are such a bunch of beautiful babies!! Momma looks so happy and content. I love how naturally they take on the role of mommy. Missy kneads away while they nurse and pulls them closer to her.

They are all brown spotted. Three of them seem to have low rufousing making them darker like their dad and the little girl looks like she might have a high degree of rufousing like her mom but it is probably to early to tell.

We are pretty sure the dad is homozygous for spotted which is becoming less common as marbles are in most all lines. After 2 litters there are no recessives. I'm pretty sure Meeka carries for marble and snow but dad looks like he might be homozygous for spotted at least.

What beautiful babes and a happy mom. Cat's are such amazing mothers, it never ceases to amaze me how readily their maternal instinct kicks in, it's quite beautiful to watch.

They are simply beautiful
How do you get anything done? I would be with them all the time!

Do you have homes for them all? I wouldn't want to part with them!

Natalie,

Congrats to you and of course Meeka. The kittens look great and I know how relieved you must be now. Teri and I are both happy for you that Meeka did so well this time.
I'm just now catching up with your great news, as we were attending a cat show in Alabama this weekend.
Anyway....once again....a big congratulations!!!

Thanks everyone. Yah it was a huge relief. I was so scared the morning the labor started. We have homes pretty much for everyone. We still are undecided if we will keep one, its a wait and see sort of thing. We have a lot of interest.

You are right though. I have gotten nothing done. I can't part from watching them. The house needs some work so I hope to do some tonight. We've had quickie meals because I haven't wanted to do anything. The kitties are getting so strong though so I'm worrying less and less.

Wow! congrats! Im glad it worked out this time! It was a very long wait for you! I am on kitten watch right now as my silver girl is 1 day overdue. This will be her first litter and she keeps fooling me. i keep thinking she's in labor but she hasn't had any kittens yet. Her temp has dropped from 101.8 yesterday to 100.7 today so that's a good sign. It's driving me INSANE though. Im just over the top excited about this litter! I haven't slept much in a week.

I wasn't expecting Meeka's yet. But she actually got me up at 5:30am to tell me she was in labor. She didn't even know where she wanted to have them. I finally put her in the laundry basket and she settled right down.

Let me know when you have kittens
.
