I already am calling the vet in the morning for an appointment but was looking for feedback as well.

Theo my 15 week old kitten has had runny poop since I brought him home last friday.

Up until now I was contributing it to change in environment, food etc. He has been playing, eating, drinking and seemed perfectly fine so i really did not think much of it.

But this morning he would not eat his wet food (And no dry that I can tell yet)and he seems very lethargic. He played some with stimulation but not on his own as usual or with Sebastian. He just seems to kind of lay wherever I put him and sleep.

I also noticed some white foamy stuff in the litterbox this morning and then a little while later some more white foam on his chin.

Now I feel bad that I did not take him back to the vet sooner but I figured he was just getting settled.

Anyone have experience with this and know what it may be? And is it okay to wait till tomorrow or should he see an emergency vet?

I would go to emergency- now.
Too many red flags for me to take the time to type- foam, lethargy- he's getting dehydrated and needs attention IMO.

I agree with Cearbhaill, get him to a vet as soon as possible... but do not feel bad, the chances are with just runny poop the vert would have put it down to a change in environment and food too.
Did you have him checked by the vet when/before you brought him home?
Even if it turns out to be nothing the vet visit will put your mind at ease

Yes he was already checked out by the vet but you know how they do it-They check the teeth, eyes, ears and weight, feel him over and say he looks good I was in there 5 minuted tops with him.

He just threw up again....Earlier he was all wet and I thought it was because he was drinking out of the tub again. Well I guess not because I heard him in the other room and went to see if he was okay and he was soaked with the white foamy stuff all on his chin, paws and belly part and I saw where he threw it up.

So I called the emergency vet who said they did not think it was a huge emergency and I could wait until tomorrow to see my vet. But I am not sure that I agree with them.

Okay now he wants to eat drink and play, play, play!!!!

He did a complete turn around. I do not get it. He seems to feel much better after that last episode.

So I think I will wait until tomorrow like the emergency vet suggested and then make a regular appointment for him to be seen for the diarrhea issue. Maybe he just had an upset tummy.

Thanks guys!

When Andy gets diarrhea I give him childrenâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s LiquiLytes unflavored, 5 ml like 4 times daily, it works.

Do NOT EVER give human medication to your cat unless you have been advised by a vet to do so and even then be very careful. There have been instances when a vet has suggested Pepto Bismal but this formula has been changed and can now be toxic to cats but the vets have not kept up to date on their information.

I called the vet today and explained what has been going on with Theo. they told me to take up all his food/water for the day and feed him boiled chicken w/rice and put down ice cubes.

If that does not work then call them back and they will want a stool sample. But they did not seem overly concerned about it.

Now I also have Sebastian- they said I can do that for both cats but should I just seperate them for the day instead so Sebastian can have his regular food or he will just have to survive?!

The breeder also told me I could give him acidophilus capsules twice a day but I think I will ask the vet before I give him anything.

Thanks guys!

Two vets form different clinics, said that its ok to use LiquiLytes “unflavored.†Also care takers for the zoo use it. But of course, itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s better to take the cat to a vet.

Good luck Crys.
